Services
A Psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in mental illness and is licensed to practice medicine. After medical school, a Psychiatrist has completed four or more years of post-graduate training in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of mental and emotional disturbances and addictions. As physicians, Psychiatrists can order medical tests and prescribe medications.
Greater Houston Psychiatric Associates offers a Physician Directed Intensive Outpatient Program (PD-IOP) at three locations. The PD-IOP is designed for patients with significant stress, anxiety, or depression whose needs cannot be met by traditional outpatient psychotherapy and medication management.
Various modalities of treatment can be useful for patients experiencing Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD). Those offered at Greater Houston Psychiatric Associates include Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and SPRAVATO(R)/esketamine intranasal spray. If indicated, Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) may be provided by one of our physicians at a local behavioral health hospital.
Our providers may participate individually in various other health insurance plans. Please contact your insurance company to determine if a particular clinician is contracted with your plan. In order for us to determine benefits, please have your insurance card available when calling to schedule your appointment.
Greater Houston Psychiatric Associates is looking to expand our team with bright, compassionate and dedicated people. We are always looking for qualified professionals to help us meet the challenges of providing high-quality psychiatric services in a market with growing mental health care needs. We are committed to providing excellent clinical care in an outpatient setting servicing children, adolescents, adults and seniors.

My poor daughter is a patient of Dr. Bhatka. This woman is MIA. She missed a scheduled virtual visit and cannot be reached AT ALL. This behavior is not indicative of quality specialty care. My daughter cannot get a simple prescription refill even though she has set up a virtual appointment that Bhatka didn’t show up for.

Experience here has been great over the last year. Anytime I have needed something within business hours they have it turned around in no time. The two Dr’s I’ve been talking with have been very supportive and listened to my concerns and problems. Compared to many other places I’ve been through in Houston, this is the best treatment I’ve received

I have never suffered such aggravation from a healthcare office.
Like other reviewers have mentioned, reaching the office via phone is hit-or-miss at best. It takes about five attempts reach someone to schedule an appointment. Phone sessions are 15 minutes after the initial consultation but still billed as a full hour. Emails are often missed or ignored; I've never had to send so many follow-ups just to receive a response. They charged $35 for a single sheet of faxed paper—a sheet of paper that I had to route through two secretaries and two (answered) phone calls over the course of several weeks

The office at Greater Houston Psychiatric Associates is very difficult to deal with. It is almost impossible to make an appointment. The web says the office is open from 8:30am to 5:00pm. I call at 8:35 am and the recording says they are open at 9:00am. I call at 9:05am and the answering service answers and says no one can come to the phone so leave a message. I left a message and we will see how long it takes to get a call back. The recording at the office also states that they are closed for lunch from 11:00-1:00. I called at 1:05pm and the answering service says they are closed from 11:30-1:30pm

I have been getting psychiatric care here for more than 6 years, I have had 2 different insurance plans, and periods of time with No insurance at all, financial hardships, unemployment, and they have Always been accommodating no matter what my situation may be. People who are leaving negative comments should probably be ignored - i have seen a lot of people throw drug-seeking tantrums - and so they don't come back because they quickly realize that doesn't fly here. This place and the doctors and staff here are not naive in the least - they are professional and take psychiatric care seriously.

For all you ignorant people who have said nasty lies about GHPS, perhaps you didn’t like the truth about yourself or where not as sick as needed to be to receive what you wanted. This clinic has saved my life. I received Intensive services for very long. I have never ever had any problems with anyone in the clinic, nor front desk staff. IOP program is very therapeutic, what other providers have this service, not many? The lovely lady over IOP is very experienced and a blessing. Counselors are well educated and therapeutic, All the doctors are absolutely therapeutic, educated and professional

I started seeing Dr Stacy Pisklak in January 2016 after a suicide attempt following a failed relationship and a death in my family. I felt as soon as my first visit she was warming, open and I believed we had a connection. She prescribed medication for my major depression disorder. These medications include Pristique, Bupropion, Seroquel, Abilify, Lexapro, Lamotrigine etc. However I didn't have any improvement in my symptoms and I was determined to try and get better. She did refer me to see a therapist Vivian Levin who I felt connected with as well. However I was still battling a deep depression

South Loop practice - Excellent from start to end (apart from its ongoing). After experiencing such terrible treatment from previous psychiatrist and a local hospital, this place is an absolute godsend. The Outpatient Program is exemplary with Donna being so caring and helpful with all the paperwork for disability and insurance. Plus Dr Giray is so caring and treats you holistically. Also, the front staff if you treat them with respect and friendliness they are also really helpful too. I would highly recommend this place, its services and doctors to anyone.

I had the displeasure of making an appointment at this office with Ashley Toutounchi at the Richmond location. I had an early morning appointment at 8:45 a.m. got there on time and proceeded to wait 40 minutes for what would have been an $80 appointment for 15 minutes. After the forty minutes had elapsed I requested a refund from the staff. No staff member informed me of the possibility of a longer wait time.
What I found appalling, was that Ashley did not even attempt to reach out to the patient in need (me) for even a short phone call to check on my current condition. If I were running a business
