Satvik Yoga
By practicing pranayama we are clearing the obstacles in our bodies, allowing breath and energy (prana) to flow freely. Our breathing is improved, our bodies function better and we clear and calm the mind. Meditation brings the brainwave patterns into an relaxed alpha state, that relaxes the body as well as the mind.

Without constant stimuli entering the sensory pathways, the mind is able to relax and enter a state of deep rest. Meditation is also a practice of self-care, that allows for a connection with the inner self. In doing so, self-esteem increases and the ability to make decisions that align with the individual's authentic feelings and desires, and allow for better self-regulation.

At Satvik Yoga Center (SYC), we love to share the learnings and benefits of Yoga postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayam), Meditation (dhyan), and chanting, among others, in order to attain a heatlhy body, mind, and spirit. We believe that the purpose of yoga is to discover different layers of one's self and to move through those layers to experience, what the great yogis call, true Silence.
I am passationate about sharing what I know about yoga, dance, and somatic movements with you. My academic studies, yoga practice, travels, and cultural background have shaped my work. My goal is to offer what I know in the most accessible way. I love to teach and I love to learn. I have had the privledge to learn from some of the great teachers from around the world and to teach to many cool people in Dallas.

The physical sound and vibration of the gong is powerful and soothing, invigorating and relaxing. We will start with a restorative yoga practice for first fifteen minutes leading to Shavasana (final relaxation pose), allowing the sounds to "wash" over you as Kenny takes you on a deep inward journey.
