Bella-Napoli Italian Bakery Of Troy
John Mainella, an enterprising youth from the countryside near Naples, began making bread in a small shop in downtown Troy. Soon the unique flavor of his special breads began to attract a small but enthusiastic following. Business grew rapidly as cakes and pastries were added to his line of bakery items. Today Bella Napoli products, still produced by John and the Mainella family, have achieved a reputation far and wide for their unforgettable taste. We have two stores; one in Latham, NY and one in Troy, NY.

My favorite spot! I stop here every Friday for hands down the best cappuccino I've found in the area. They also make a killer bacon egg and cheese on their own fresh baked rolls! The baked goods, donuts, cannoli, cookies etc are also super delicious and the girls behind the counter are so kind. Come here for a cappuccino+ breakfast, you won't be disappointed!

How have I not already done a five star review for Bella Napoli?! This is the best bakery. It is consistent and always wonderful. Thank you to Alyssa and Julia who were so helpful and patient with me when I placed a customized cake order!

Bella Napoli is a must visit when I'm in town.

I was shocked that there was a super long line at 3pm on Thursday, but it moved quickly.

Our timing was good because they have Radio Bars only on Thursday and they are supreme. They have plain and peanut butter flavored. They have a really amazing assortment of pretty much every kind of cookie/treat and none disappoint.

This trip we came here specifically to get jelly donuts for Hanukkah. They have 3 options for coating - powdered sugar, glazed, and coarse sugar, all good.

This bakery was beautiful on the inside and everything looked so good. They had a wide variety of things to choose from. However, I have been looking for a good cannoli in Albany and this was not it! The cream tasted like lemon, definitely not like cannoli cream. I also got a raspberry macaron and the consistency was not right. I also did not taste raspberry whatsoever. It tasted like chocolate…

I loved their desserts 🍨here. The donuts were so good. I also loved the raspberry cannollis there as well. The Italian cannolli cream cake was delicious. Haven't been here in a while. I am so glad that I did. Would recommend coming here. Thank you 😊.

Heard some really good things about this place. We drove 2 hours and 45 minutes to try it for ourselves. So worth the drive. I wanted to try the Cannoli. They are amazing!!! The Rum Ba Ba were tasty and the Raspberry Cheesecake is out of this world. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be taking the drive again, real soon.

I was pleased to find this bakery about which I have heard people rave since I moved to Albany. Walking in it appeared to be the real deal, right out of the Italian bakeries I grew up with outside NYC: the white, white walls, the white lineoleum floor, the white ceiling, glass cases, bakery boxes being assembled, and the red and white braided string to tie the boxes shut.

It was 3:30 on a Friday and the lines were backed to the door, but actually moved pretty quickly. Most of the saleswomen were very pleasant.

It's an eclectic array of pastry items. I've never seen cake by the

I purchase bread from Bella Napoli in Latham maybe once per week. I would go there more often, and purchase more items, if the staff wasn't so miserable. I've heard the same comments from several others, so I know it's not just me.

Absolutely amazing! Everything we chose was delicious and there are SO MANY options! I was surprised that they even had a deli. The only thing they need is gelato and the Italian dessert experience would be complete. My favorite part was the variety of cannolis 🤤

I could literally eat 20 of their jelly donuts in one sitting. So. Good. If you haven't gotten one here, you have to!! I'd recommend the raspberry over the blueberry filling for sure. Every time I get a sweet here it's super fresh. So many options!!

Drove out of our way to come here since the pastry shop in Schenectady's little Italy was closed on a Sunday. Cannoli's had too strong of an orange flavor to them but were good. We prefer traditonal. Nothing I would crave or want to go back for. The eclairs did not taste any better than a grocery store eclair and the Italian cookies were just ok. We have had amazing Italian pastries from Boston's North End and Little Italy in NYC so we have a high bar. Even so, this place is just so so, not terrible but nothing to get excited about.

What a wonderful bakery! Everything is always very fresh. They have a rather massive selection of things that can make you gain weight just by looking at them :)
They will make anything you want as a special order (like a birthday cake) and they are great at meeting your custom specifications.
The only negative (and maybe that is not the right word) is that they are often so busy you end up having to wait on line for a while. However, that is really a testimony about how good they are.
If you are in need of something that is sure to make you smile Bella Napoli is a place to visit!

Someone brought in another round of treats from Bella Napoli, this time it was donuts. I had a single blackberry-filled powdered donut and it was heaven! The donut was soft and chewy, light and fresh. The jelly was sweet and tangy, still had a few seeds from the blackberries, but wasn't sickly sweet. It only took a few bites to disappear but it was worth every chew. Thumbs up!

I was thoroughly disappointed today! After placing an order for a 4ft sub 10" birthday cake and a tray of cookies!

I prefer my items four weeks prior in person and explained I was using them for convenience. I ordered bright colors on the cake and when I arrived they couldn't find the cake after pho omg me twice to confirm the cake was ready for pickup!

I waited fifteen minutes while they were scrambling around. The finally located the cake when I otcerealized it was decorated in pastel colors I told the staff I was disappointed and wanted to speck to the manager, she told the manager

Definitely the place for Italian and specialty Italian bake goods. If your looking for non Italian bakery items, this may not be your 1st choice. Amazing quality that has been a staple of the Capital District for decades. Fast friendly service in a well organized, well staffed bakery. While not being the only great bakery choice in the area, its always in the conversation.

It's been forever since I visited Bella Napoli. Now that I have been recently I can't wait to go back again and again. Amazing display and variety of baked goods. My kids loved the special frosted holiday cookies adorned with images of turkeys and pumpkins. I'm a fan of the REAL Utica style half moon cookie (although I wish they had been baked that morning) and the brownies. I especially enjoyed my sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Can't wait to go back to try more of the doughnuts and Italian cookies.

The cupcakes looked beautiful but had too much frosting (topped

The best donuts in the capital district. They absolutely nail jelly and Boston cream. Light, airy yeasted dough expertly fried, not too sweet. It's so good. The sub rolls and radio bars are also great. You can basically skip everything else.

Really good, very popular bakery. I went in for some cookies to bring to a client of mine. I ordered a half dozen black and whites, and a friendly young lady was putting them into a box for me. The chocolate fudge side got messed up on a couple of them, asked because they were no longer presentable, she just let me have them for free. And of course, I ate both of them within minutes!

The black and white cookies were good... not the best I've had, but good. I think thre fudge side was too loose and "fudgey," but that's just me.

I'd definitely be back.

What makes this bakery special is that they have a little something of everything. There are at least six displays and each has a different product. They have a lot of Italian pastry and usually when bakeries have that, it's all they have. But Bella Napoli has pies, breads, cupcakes, cakes, cookies, donuts, rugelach, and more.

We tried a half a dozen things and thought they were all very good. My particular favorite was the plain cannoli. We also had a raspberry flavored and I didn't like it nearly as much. The lemon filled doughnut was delicious. I liked the carrot cake. Overall I

How have I not reviewed Bella??? I spent most of my life in or around Latham, so this bakery has always been a staple for my family. I now live many states away and this is one of the places I miss the most, especially when it comes to bakeries.

As you walk in, amazing smells hit your nose, while beautifully displayed pastries catch your eye. I'm a huge fan of the cookies from here, especially the fudge drop and sugar.

If you love Italian cookies and pastries, this is your spot! They also carry delicious donuts and treats to bring in for that office party.

Love this place. Good thing I just found it, or would have gained even more weight in the 6 years I've been up here. This is really great Italian bakery. It reminds me so much of two old bakeries in Detroit growing up, run by Italian and Albanian immigrants. There were long displays of cookies, and cakes, and donuts.

Every Sunday after church, my parents would take us there, and a nice old lady with a babushka and gold teeth, would give me 4 free cookies to try, while my parents sat with the owner, their friend, and drank Turkish coffee. They would chat about anything and everything
