We discovered Palisade on one of our backpacking trips driving to Moab in the spring of 1994. Palisade is a picturesque, quaint farming town and back in 1994 peaches were the dominant crop. 1994 was the year we also attended the Colorado Mountain Winefest where we participated in a seminar on grape growing in Colorado presented by the state viticulturist.
Driving North on 28th Street/Highway 36 take a left onto Lee Hill Road near the Holiday Drive-In sign. Take an immediate right into the Tamberley Trade Center and drive along the front of the complex to unit #17. A guided tour offering wine tasting and tastes of chocolate and cheese, including a tour of the winery and virtual tour of our vineyards.

Thought I’ve never been to a winery, I know Mary was the most knowledgeable, friendly, and amazing connoisseur that I could have encountered. If I ever visit again I would love to come back and see her, along with their amazing wine.

We have visited BookCliff numerous times, both in Palisade and in Boulder. I have come to see over time that their quality and consistency is matched by few others in Colorado and is comparable to many California producers. They don’t try to go too far afield with varieties or techniques that aren’t suitable for Colorado production and stay well focused on what can be done well. We finally joined their club last year after trying some others that disappointed and are well pleased with the wine and the discounts. BookCliff is doing a great job!

I love how cozy the space is. The employees were wonderful to talk to and guided us through the whole tasting experience. They have a lot of varieties of wine and I recommend joining their wine club. Such a great deal.

The wine was good, but the service was disappointing. My husband and I went there this afternoon so that I could try their wines. The lady who was serving us was very reserved and seemed to avoid and ignore us most of the time, even though she was pleasant and sociable with everyone else there. Not sure how we could possibly have offended her, but we definitely felt like she had a problem with us specifically.

John and Ulla are personable and enthusiastic about what they do nice folks. We met them in Vail at the Farmers market and purchased a bottle of 2018 Ensemble Red. Having lived next to Napa we like wine.
We spirited it home for the time and straight into a built in wine cooler, carefully we packed it for the trip home to OK.
We opened it last night to go with dinner. Sadly it had completely turned into Red Wine vinegar. I examined the cork carefully nothing wrong there. Guess we'll cook with it at least - pricey vinegar.

We went post COVID-19 re-opening so naturally the environment of every winery is different. Bookcliff has done a wonderful job keeping options for distancing and still keeping their good service. The wines were nice and we liked them enough to join the club. It's one of the best I've seen. You get to choose your own, good discounts, free tastings, % off, etc. I went back again with a friend about a month later and it was good to know they were sticking to the safety rules while still keeping up with their great attentiveness and tasty wine! I think it will evolve into an even better spot when some
