Elevator in Woods building constantly out of order. Live on 5th floor right beside of said Elevator. High turnover in staffing. Current staff does not communicate well with me. Before this new staff.......old staff was professional, communicated rapidly, and well also timely. I love the location and my apartment inside. Currently I'm very disappointed! ADDENDUM ADDENDUM...... AS OF January 2022 ... elevator was repaired and permanently fixed months ago. Permanent staff is very professional and friendly. I feel much better about my entire experience here. All is well! Thank you to the entire staff

South 16 is by far the best apartment community in Roanoke. The staff is professional, maintenance is quick to respond, the facilities are always clean. I feel very safe living here. It’s very close to the greenway for biking and walking. A boat launch is literally in the backyard, great for kayaks, canoes, etc. It’s less than 5 minutes to downtown Roanoke. It’s close to shopping, dining, outdoor events, and more.

My apartment is soooo pretty, and I have loved the local live music and fun monthly contests! South16 is really unique, convenient, quaint, and clean with awesome amenities I enjoyed so much this summer. Dustin in the office has been awesome and super helpful. Can't wait until the pool is open again next year!

South16 is such a great place to live! It’s nice being surrounded by young professionals and everyone is very considerate of one another (no loud neighbors). The apartments are really beautiful and modern too! Also the property Manager Dustin is so great! He has improved the property since he has taken over and is such a joy to speak to. He is always professional and courteous and goes above and beyond for his tennants

South16 is amazing! The location and quality of the apartments and amenities cannot be beaten in Roanoke. My apartment is gorgeous and I love the luxury finishes, oversized windows, and huge closets. The management staff are helpful and communicative, and maintenance is quick, courteous, and thorough! The pool has been awesome this summer. I also enjoy living right nextdoor to the Roanoke River Greenway and downtown. It's been a great experience so far!

Has been a very up and down experience, as someone who has lived in multiple apartments up and down the east coast I was initially very happy with south 16. As time went on the insanely high turnover with the management group took its toll and the things were left unkept and facilities and amenities were not always available such as the pool and the workout room.
The new management team has been doing a better job (hopefully some of them will stay more than a couple months) but as of now this complex is very frustrating.
The actual apartments are nice and the overall should be higher than three

Update: Two weeks later and the pool is not open still (in the hottest days of July). If you’re choosing this place for the amenities: don’t. Pool has barely been open, elevators are always broken, and even the key-fob system is broken! This place looks awesome on a tour but the management can’t seem to get anything to work.
