I needed a 26 inch front tire for my mountain bike. Called Kent and, unsurprisingly (because 26 inch tires are so "last decade") he didn't happen to have an appropriate one in stock. But he special ordered one for a very fair price and got it in two days later. A great experience at Watta Bike as usual. I'm gonna go pick up the tire later today and know that I can rely on Kent to give me all the latest skinny on local trail conditions. Of course, due to the Caldor fire I think all the trails really close by are temporarily closed, but that's another story!

Generally I do my bike maintenance but yesterday a had a mega FUBAR with the derailleur on my Enduro bike; Whattabike had the parts needed to fix it and got it done in 20 mins, including fixing some bonus details that I never cared to figure out - in the end I was left with a bike shifting like new. Also, in terms of parts/mtb gear they have quite a neat, curated, selection of stuff in the shop.
Overall, awesome bike shop in the summer and backcountry/XC skiing shop in the winter.

I know the routine.
I was helped by a local young Man who did a great job welcoming me and helping me out with the parts I needed.
Before I even left the owner confronts his employee and starts giving him a hard time!?
I have a garage full of bikes. lol
Your a short sided a- hole like most bike$hop owners.. What you did was wrong and you just killed plenty of future business from my whole family.
You only cater time to those who walk in and spend thousands their first visit? You just lost making thousands. I'm buying my new bike elsewhere

This is an excellent shop with great equipment and top notch customer service. I rented some skis from them and was impressed with the value (I was expecting to pay A LOT more). I had a terrible experience at Squaw Valley where someone stole the skis I'd rented, but the Watta Bike team were incredibly helpful and understanding during the whole ordeal and weren't even going to charge me for the lost skis (they eventually turned up). I will definitely be going back to this shop, both for winter ski needs and summer bike rentals.

We stopped in for snowboarding rentals as it was after 5PM, most places close at 6 and this was the first place we saw driving in from Sac. At first we were concerned that it's a small place and manned by a just one person. But it worked out great.

The college age kid helping us was Phillip and he knew his stuff. He was super friendly and great with the kids. No complaints with a few of us being fussy and needing to try on 3 or 4 pairs of boots. Similarly he was flexible when my daughter thought she was left-foot, not, goofy, not... Phillip said to go with her first instinct and that worked

Good guys. Just needed air in our bikes and they helped us out. We got the usual jokes about, "oh, how much should we charge you for air?" But they filled our tires no charge and sent us on our way. Would definitely recommend and go back.

I'm pretty sure this is the only place in South Tahoe that rents splitboards, probes, shovels, and avalanche beacons. Which is awesome. Also the staff were super friendly and the rental was super fast and the gear was flawless.

The local's choice for bikes, repairs, and skis. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, owner ken is a great resource and a very friendly guy.

Great place for ski and board rentals, boots, poles, etc. Very friendly staff and great prices as well. Do very good edges and waxes also. They also have a few things to buy like ski poles.

Small shop but they have the important things. Bought a tire there at the end of the season a few seasons ago, now that WTB Breakout is my favorite rear tire! They also had a derailleur hanger for my Mojo HD3!

Kent's shop is the only game in town when it comes to renting dynafit-style alpine touring skis in South Lake. I rented a pair of Salomon MTN Explore skis mounted with Marker Kingpin 10 bindings and a pair of Salomon boots. The gear was almost new. Stoked to find a place near Carson Pass with good, light-weight alpine touring gear, and will be back!

Awesome place! We went to 3 different rental shops looking for ski touring equipment (split board, skins, touring skis) and this place had what we needed! Light weight equipment for long backcountry days in powder. The owner was very nice too!

This shop does it all - skis, snowboards, mtn bikes, repairs, service, etc. It is like the cliche ¨local shop¨ where you can walk in and feel like you´re talking with an expert friend or neighbor who are capable and happy to help you out! Every service I´ve had done there (bikes and skis) have been competitively priced and expertly completed.

Stopped here because of proximity to cabin rental. Friend needed a MTB last minute, this place came through. Easy and pleasant transaction. Thanks
