One of Tahoe's oldest bike shops, we've been here since the beginning of mountain biking at Lake Tahoe. Sierra Ski and Cycle Works specializes in custom builds, tune ups and repairs - all makes, all models, all types. We are the only Santa Cruz bike dealer in South Lake Tahoe, and also carry Jamis bikes and a complete line of bike gear and accessories, trails maps, and bike racks.

It was the Independence Day weekend, the Third of July, 2:00 PM. Gary and his shop mate Mc Cloud bled my brakes and checked, my bike out to make it safe for the next days ride, and had it ready before 5:00 PM closing. Service like this is a rare thing these days. I realize this will not always be possible, depending on work load. I really appreciate the friendly, professional, and courteous interaction from this shop. We ended up with a flat tire and I called begging them to stay open as we were running the bike down hwy 50. They said, "of course". Such great guys and reasonably priced. We have gone here many times before and will continue to take our bikes here. They helped 2 damsels in destress. 😊. Thank you.

Gary is awesome! Super nice guy, has an awesome bike with a Pinon BB gearbox, and knows his stuff about skiing too. Oh, and they have good deals on consignment gear - just got a new backcountry setup there! Worth noting that it's not a huge place though, so don't plan on finding things in every size.

Stopped in looking for a bike rack since my online order wasn't coming in. Gary looked at my car, said that what he had in stock wouldn't work well, and then went into storage to find an old used rooftop rack that I can jury rig onto the Impreza. Talk about customer service! Very much appreciated since I was planning on taking off the next day.
I was talking to my brother about it, and it turns out Gary helped my brother out on the trails when he had a flat.

My wife and I hired two cruiser bikes and we a great experience. The suggested route was beautiful and on cycle paths and quite roads, we got to visit beaches, waterfalls and forests. The bikes were in great condition and had nice fast rolling tyres, which made the ride effortless. The people who work there are really helpful and friendly.
