Therapy Roo Physical Therapy is the compassionate, convenient, in-home Bay Area solution for women struggling with pelvic floor dysfunction. The term 'Pelvic Floor' refers to the muscle layers in the pelvis that act like a sling, supporting the internal organs of the pelvis, providing muscle control for voiding, and contributing to sexual function and arousal.
These muscles work hard all day and dysfunction in the muscles, bones, or surrounding tissues can result in a wide variety of symptoms, like incontinence, pelvic pain, pain with sex or sitting, constipation, and other voiding issues. Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy is a specialty requiring advanced training to evaluate the internal muscles of the pelvis.

Services
Pelvic pain and incontinence are rarely discussed but very common issues. Chronic pelvic pain has a prevalence similar to asthma or chronic low back pain.* 1 in 5 women will suffer from pelvic pain at some point in their lives.* 26% of women between the ages of 18-59 experience involuntary urinary leakage.*
Therapy Roo is designed with busy women and mothers in mind. This model offers the convenience and comfort of care in your own home. Therapy Roo provides longer appointments with baby friendly and flexible scheduling to deliver compassionate and effective care. Whether you're looking to get stronger, reduce pain and incontinence, or prevent future injury, Therapy Roo can help you find the confidence to know you're on the right track.
Unfortunately, the world in general and the US in particular has been slow to find treatments for these conditions. Chronic pain, especially chronic pelvic pain, is still a new field of study. Many physicians are uncomfortable and unsure when treating these patients with pelvic pain syndromes.* Often patients are diagnosed with chronic pelvic pain only after long periods of testing or medical intervention.

If you're thinking about seeing a pelvic floor therapist, I highly recommend Jessica! When I was about 8 months pregnant, I started to look into the fourth trimester and read a lot about the pelvic floor and various injuries and trauma that can occur during birth. I knew that my OBGYN wasn't going to help me with my pelvic floor health, so I scheduled a visit with Jessica a few weeks before I gave birth. I'm so glad that I did! It was so valuable to have that baseline when we checked back in after the birth of my son. I had a mostly uneventful birth, and was able to recover pretty

Jessica is very through and meticulous in her approach. She gave a lot of beneficial preventive information before the visit, which was so so valuable. Her summary of her findings and suggestions are so well organised that you get a very clear picture in your mind and are able to follow through with her suggestions better. She comes to your house for treatments and that is so helpful specially if you have just had a baby. I would highly recommend her to anybody looking for help with their pelvic floor. She is really great!
