Currently live in the Onyx and have been a resident for 3+ years. My reason for 1 star is the lack of maintaining a SMOKE FREE community. I assure you that if you like to leave windows open (I think most people do!) your living space will smell badly of cigarette smoke. I have complained several times with no solution. If this is something that is important to you, please take it into consideration before moving into the Onyx under the pretense of it being a 'luxury' building and smoke free community. *This review is for those who find constant cigarette smoke a dealbreaker in their

I have been living at Onyx for about five months now and it's the best apartment I've ever had in LA! Not only does the staff go above and beyond but the residents in the community are also so nice! There aren't any loud late night parties and the walls are also well insulated so you don't hear neighbors' conversations (tends to be common in other LA apartments). Unfortunately for me, I will be moving back to the east coast and had to end my lease early and I'm so sad because I really love this apartment/ community! We moved from TX in November 2019. In order to commute conveniently for both my husband and I, he took a tour for us and signed the lease with this apartment. Also, this is the only one apartment in the area that allows us to live with a large dog. I would say, we are so fortunate to have this sweet home during the terrible pandemic time.

What a wonderful place to live. Everyone is so attentive. The management is outstanding! And yesterday, Oscar...a member of the maintenance team, was able to help me with a plumbing issue that arose after hours. Oscar quickly answered the emergency contact line and arrived at my apt. with 30 minutes. He then spent 60 minutes draining water from my emergency basin while coordinating with a plumber. Oscar and the management team saved my weekend!

Wow! It's all I can say. My roomie and I went to visit and the two ladies were simply amazing. They stopped their lunch to give us a tour, even though we were there early. Super helpful. Great amenities. Transparency. They did a great job of selling the place. While we haven't decided where to live, their customer services and offerings made them really high on our list. Moved in for about a month now and am so in love with this place! Not only is the location perfect for restaurants/shopping, the building and units themselves are beautiful and very well maintained. I also love the small, "home-y" community vibes the management so thoughtfully put into place. We had the pleasure of working with Alexandra when it came to signing the lease, and it was the easiest process! She is so so friendly, professional, personable and really listens to your concerns. Norma (the other leasing manager) is such a delight as well. What a dynamic duo! All in all, love this

When we were apartment hunting a couple of months ago, we had seen a number of gorgeous apartments, however we fell in love with Onyx Glendale all because of how approachable and accommodating Norma and Alexandra are. They make you feel like home, and are always there to help with anything you need. The move in process was very easy. Although we encountered some hiccups on the day-of, Norma and Alexandra assured us and had everything covered. Moved into the Onyx Apartments and am loving this place! From the unit size to design, to complex amenities, it's such a welcoming Environment. It's proximity to so many restaurants, shops and other services is a plus. Please read the reviews related to security deposits, without doubt they will not return your deposit and after a very long process of disputing they will not be fair or reasonable. We were told we owed them additional money (a large amount) and they will stand their ground even if proved they are incorrect or there were pre-existing conditions.
They know it’s your only opportunity to take this to the small claims court and they will not negotiate.
Avoid this complex at all costs, it’s bad customer service and unprofessional approach. We paid for a new fridge, gas cooker grill, new vinyl

I have to say, Norma is simply without a doubt - amazing. Her customer service skills are out of this world. She was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Her quirky charm and infectious laugh put us at lease after having bad experiences with other apartment communities. Although we decided against Onyx due to location, the customer service experience Norma gaves us, made it really hard to say no. Thank you so much Norma.

I am giving 2 star because the apartments are nice and new. However, the real picture comes when you are vacating and the amount that will get deducted from security deposit. They charged all possible heads from my deposit despite me ready to pay for cleaning charges. I told them upfront that they can deduce cleaning from my deposit. They will charge you for painting, cupboards painting, maintenance etc..The reviews written below on deposit are correct. They know that people living in such apts will never argue so they fool to make money this way. Unethical community!!

But most importantly we absolutely became most comfortable when we meet Alex! Our maintenance professional! And professional is the right word. He knew how to fix and solve each issue we might have came across. On top of that he's the sweetest and most friendly friend we made too. Lived here for a year, now waiting for 2 months for my security deposit. This company sucks. There are so many other choices in Glendale. Stay away at all costs. Cockroaches in my apartment and I was a neat nick. I also complained about the security charges they were making against me and they admitted to over charging me. Now they still owe me even after admitting I was being overcharged for painting. They didnt paint the place before I moved in so I suspect they didnt paint it again but charged me. They are crooks, they are a month overdue with paying me according to the state statutes.

I've lived here for almost a year now. Here is my honest assessment.
Location: You cannot beat the location. It has so many great places within walking distance and it is a safe and clean area to live in. Plus if you go out on the rooftop, the view is beautiful.
Amenities: Love the Amenities! They have a gym, yoga room, roof decks, hot tub, pool, dog station and a lot to offer. I do wish the pool was a bit bigger and they had a barbell area in the gym, but it is still a good gym for a complex.
Maintenance: The Maintenance team, especially Alex is very friendly, competent and professional

I was the second renter in this apartment. And I received an assessment for bugs. Strikes 3 and 4 against this place.
If you want a place that gets so many thing wrong, this is your place.
Greystar, a horribly run company with no soul. That's how they make me feel. Good luck to you if you choose to rent from them.

This place has the worst management team and staff. Lisa Rothlisberg is Community Manager and she is the WORST. She is useless and disengaged. The units are built very cheaply and the cost of keeping it clean is so high. You will be ripped off in your final bill when you are moving out surely. Smoking is common in the community and around it with no enforcement of no smoking policy.
Stolen packages all the time while it's allegedly a secured community, and when they decided to install lockers, we ended up paying registration fees of $25/person and our packages were still left in the lobby

I moved out on 10/5/2018 and as of 10/31/2018 I have not received my deposit(s) back. Yes two deposits. When the complex was under construction I rent a 1 bedroom and put a deposit on a 2 bedroom. I have emailed Lisa the manager three times and called corporate. I have yet to receive a call back from either Lisa or Greystar corporate.
I would avoid this complex unless it is under new management. The current management leaves a lot to be desired.

I moved in a couple weeks ago and I've been very impressed with maintenance and the whole management team. My move in went very smooth, I had a couple maintenance requests at move in and the online system made it super easy to submit a request, it was tended to the same day. Dario and Ricardo went above and beyond. They truly work hard here. So far I'm enjoying my experience. I'd recommend ONYX to anyone looking for a nice new building.

Went in here on a whim when looking at houses in Glendale. We left with such a great impression thanks to Erin Green in leasing, that we have officially moved into a townhouse here! Love the amenities: from pet spa, high end gym, Pilates studio, rooftop decks, chic, clean and modern decor (the lobby always smelling delicious) and the kind staff we encountered (Erin you are the BEST, and props to Conor and Cara); they've always been so detailed, helpful and prompt to reply to our numerous questions!
Also this location is THE BEST in Glendale in my opinion! Close enough to walk to everything

After 6 months of living here I would have to eat that I'm overall happy with my experience. The leasing team specially Conor is always helpful and respond to inquiries fast. Super friendly staff and the property is always clean.
I do think however that the finishes and appliances used in the apartments are very cheap and low quality. This has nothing to do with the staff which is A+

I walked in yesterday seeking an employment opportunity as a Leasing Consultant that a friend referred me to. Right away I was taken away by the amazing interior design and theme.
