Services
Thomas A. Hardesty, known to his family as "Papa, " was a blacksmith in Galesville, Maryland, a small waterfront community in southern Anne Arundel County. Hardesty Funeral Home began in the winter of 1911. A group of gypsies traveling across the West River suffered the death of one of their children.
Hardesty Funeral Home is committed to exceeding the expectations of the families we serve. Since 1911 we have been treating families with dignity and compassion, and we strive to explore new and better ways to build upon the principles on which this business was founded. We could outline many reasons to select our firm over others.
Planning a funeral can be overwhelming, but you are not alone in this. We're here to support you throughout this journey and make this process one of love, healing, and life celebration. Below is some information to help you get started, but you can contact us at any time if you need help.

When a loved one dies at home or in a place that isn't a healthcare facility, you'll need to contact emergency personnel before they can be taken into our care.If your loved one was under medical care, it's a good idea to call their physician as well. If your loved one dies in a healthcare facility, they will notify the proper authorities, including the funeral home you have chosen to care for your loved one if they know that information.
Planning a funeral service can be a very difficult process for families who have just lost a loved one. But it's important to provide those who are grieving with a supportive environment in which they can begin to find closure, say goodbye, and come to terms with the loss.

Gathering with friends and family gives everyone the opportunity to connect, share memories, offer words of sympathy, and create a lasting network of comfort and support as they start the journey toward healing.Immediate burial means that your loved one will be buried or entombed without a public service or gathering.
Our funeral directors are committed to helping you create a special tribute to your loved one that will honor a life well-lived. We encourage you to share your ideas, customs and wishes with us. All Traditional arrangement packages do not include cemetery charges, newspaper notices, certified copies of the death certificate, clergy honorarium, or any other cash advance items.

I would like to say that Hardesty in Gambrills is a very great group of people to work with. My dad and my mom and some other special people who have passed on were laced out in this facility and you couldn’t ask for anymore out of this establishment. They took care of all our needs plus things we hadn’t thought of. Thank all again.

I personally wasn’t there present to see the service for my deceased best family friend I ever had. But I must say that the staff there took great care of him and made it the best service for him.
It’s sad that I wasn’t able to come; but I wanted to evaluate Hardest Funeral Home the best rating as they have allowed the family members to video tape the service.
