Services
Dr. Surmaty was born and raised in Northern Virginia. Deciding to stay local, he went to our local George Mason University and received his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a concentration in pre-medicine. He then traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to study at the Arizona College of Optometry which is part of the medical school of Midwestern University.
At Eye Town Vision Center, it is recommended to have an eye exam every year. If annual eye exams are missed, there are risks of certain ocular diseases that may develop inside the eye without the person feeling or seeing the eye disease. Having your vision and eye health checked yearly will reduce the risks or progression of ocular diseases from forming.
All of our frames are made of high quality materials, we make sure that our patients were the most superior quality frames at affordable prices. At Eye Town, we offer a variety of eyeglass lens options to choose from, below is a list of the most common types of lens options available. If there is not a lens option below that you would like for your eyeglasses, we will go out of our way to make sure we can order unique lenses for you.

I have visited this I doctor place three times it would’ve been my fourth time on Friday but after wasting time and time again coming here I didn’t feel like it was worth it. I have been there again multiple times to try to fix my contact prescription. I’ve worked with the doctor and we have not found a common ground for a good fitting. The contact etiquette me I have told him gives me headaches because it’s making my eyes focus more never had this issue ever before. When I asked for a refund because again I’m not getting the services provided I’m not gonna continue wasting my time

I made an appointment here for my husband. The doctor was fine, the other staff, however, wasn't. My husband's appointment was first pushed back unexpectedly due to an apparent double booking that they didn't call him about until about an hour before his appointment. Then, the staff forgot about him for over an hour even though we were there 10 minutes early to the appointment time. He was waiting right in eyesight of the staff and he was only seen when he stood up and asked what was going on. That was completely unprofessional and absolutely unacceptable. Just went today for my son’s first eye exam (5 y.o). Dr. Surmaty was great. His staff is wonderful, as well. They are polite, genuinely friendly, and helpful. I appreciate that they’re not just trying to sell you anything they can; they are honest about what you need or don’t. Will definitely recommend.

Mask is required. Big plastic paper put over the counter of the staff but no other covid guidance followed.
No cleaning measures or sanitizing stations.
So understaffed that one person couldn't help 3-4 customers that are waiting.
Okay choice is kids frames but not much shapes. Just lot of color choices!
We wouldn't recommend this place as you'll be wasting lot of time just waiting for someone to help you and open drawers to try on some frames.

Wonderful service! I cannot begin to express my satisfaction with Dr. Surmaty at the Eye Town Vision Center I visited. I have bought glasses here at the Eye Town Vision Center repeatedly and have found the staff to be extremely competent and friendly. I love their wide variety of frames and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable optometrist.

I don't think I've ever had a better experience at an optometrist. The whole staff is amazing, the selection of glasses is fantastic and they really work with you to see how you can get the best price. I work nearby so it's convenient but I'll drive down from DC for sure because this place is great. :)!

Fantastic experience with these guys. Was in DC for 2 weeks for a conference (I live overseas) and they rushed my order through production so I could get my glasses before I left. My conference ended early and they ended up having to mail my glasses to me instead. They are very professional and have a very personal feeling. Great customer service. Would recommend and will go again if I'm ever in the area.

Dr. Surmaty and his staff were very attentive, welcoming and accommodating. I called last minute and they were able to fit me in for an appointment that day! Everyone on hand helped me pick out new frames and treated me as a friend not just a client. I would recommend Eye Town Vision Center to anyone!

Wonderful experience at this facility. From the moment I walked in the door, everyone was extremely friendly and kind. Spent a lot of time with me picking out frames, and even worked me in to the doctors schedule for a second opinion! The Doctor is amazing, very knowledgeable, kind and answers all of your concerns and/or questions.

Dr. Surmaty was very professional. She answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns in a very kind manner. During the visit, I expected to only get a vision check, but it turns out a dilation test was included, which was very nice. This place is definitely better and cheaper than the one downstairs at Greenbrier mall.

Weeks after my appointment, I still NO NOT have my contact prescription. I have sent emails which go answered, trying to call is not worth the effort, the phone only go directly to voice mail, and the voice mails go unanswered also.
This place is a joke!! Seriously folks, find another eye doctor and avoid the frustration.

I wish I could give this place a 0. Worst experience ever! The optometrists change out every few months so there is no continuity. I went to get my contact prescriptions and my file was never completed by one doctor, I called weeks later for my rx and was told by another physican that we would write it and send it 2 weeks passed and I heard nothing. I called again and got my prescription this time my name was not on it. Called again. Got a prescription only to not have a BC number on it took me 2 months just to get contacts through them.

Loved this Doctor and Location. Dr. Nguyen was super nice and explained what was going on it terms that I could understand. The front staff was super polite and friendly. I understand at times they only have one front staff working (me coming from a customer service background) understand how hard it can be to be responsible for all duties. The facility was clean and I would highly recommend this eye doctor.
