Bynes-Royall Funeral Home, Inc., formally Royall Undertaking Company, Inc. is the oldest black business in present day Savannah, GA (Hoskins 2002; Elmore, 2002; Chatham County, 1957), and the oldest continuous black funeral home in the State of Georgia (Taylor, 2002; Elmore, 2002; Savannah Tribune, 2011).
Visitations are usually held before the funeral service or gravesite ceremony. The visitation and/or viewing maybe formal or informal and may be conducted before or after burial or cremation. Traditional funeral services may be held at a church or the funeral home. The traditional rituals of remembering loved ones through reflection, singing, poems, personal tributes etc.

The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.

We had my aunts wake here this weekend. I have been to this funeral home before, and had a lovely experience. The experience I had this weekend was just as lovely. They gave us a private place to spend time with her, and reflect. It was quite though there were other wakes in other rooms. My aunt looked amazing. I could see the care and really appreciated that. It was a sad, but lovely experience.
