We've enjoyed this place for the last 2 years or so, can't explain why it's my first review.
The food, service and atmosphere are always great. Today seemed exceptionally good, maybe I was just hungry!
We shared half order biscuits & gravy w/ a side waffle, and their breakfast plate (eggs, sausage, hash browns & toast).
Everything was cooked perfectly and served fairly quick and hot!
Bonus is they have several different coffee roasts, medium was great.

Really cute breakfast and lunch spot in Hilton Head with a bakery/coffee shop as well as a gift shop. Outdoor seating, huge indoor space for indoor seating as well. "It is what it is" is the apparent slogan of the restaurant, although I'm not sure why. I had an omelette with vegetables, cheese and blue crab claw meat. It was delicious. My wife had the pancakes. They were good. The syrup was ok. They offer pure maple syrup on the menu. Next time, I will try that. Maybe it was a hint that their regular syrup isn't the best. My baby had the mini mouse pancake. Nice place for a latte and a to-go sandwich! So happy that they offer gluten-free bread AND muffins! I was kinda sad that my chicken sandwich didn't appear to have avocado on it - or maybe it was very little? - though, but whatcha gonna do. Great versatile option for a tasty lunch on the bike path.
I expected the shop to be more food for some reason? But they have a great gift shop, with cards, wall hangings, other cute and useful things.

Would be a six star if that was possible. I have come 3 days in a row. Haven’t been let down once. I had Stephanie and Grace as my two servers and they were absolutely amazing!! Totally come coffee is amazing and the food is just as good!! The servers are very friendly and helpful!! Absolutely delicious!! You wont be let down

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed dining at the Watusi cafe so much the 1st day we went by and got takeout from the counter the following day. While I'm not a coffee drinker I am told that the coffee drink my wife had in the restaurant, was much better than the one at the counter, but baristas are all bound to have their own ways of doing things. However, I think if we had been in town longer she would have been stopping by more mournings.

Stopped for breakfast after walking the beach by Coligny Plaza on Sunday morning. Asked and was seated at an outside table in the courtyard. Our server was kind, cheerful, and informative by letting us know the specials and favorites. Our order was for 2 eggs over easy with hash browns and toast and the Taco Trio with chorizo and hash browns. The hash browns were cooked to perfection with the outside crisped and the seasoning spot on. Eggs were also perfect and the tacos served in a soft corn tortilla were some of the best tasting I’ve had. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable prices

Another yelp find! Definitely wanted to try this out for the good reviews received here. Such a cute little spot on the island. We went in the morning and it was not at all crowded. The weather is still great out so we were able to sit out in the courtyard area. Our waitress was really nice and on point with things. The Signature mimosa was a good start. I wish they had refills or bottomless. I then had the omelette with bacon, sausage, and tomato. Portions were great and food very tasty. I also had a piece of French toast just to try. Nice breakfast spot.

Never have I eaten at a place for breakfast or lunch that equals the Watusi Cafe. The food is fantastic, plentiful ( actually huge) the staff unbelievably kind and at your beck and call and the menu so difficult to choose from that we had to go back again today!!
There is a wonderful bakery on premises and even a little shopping area with delightful merchandise.
Run don't walk to get here and know that there is indoor as well as outdoor seating with an atmosphere that exudes serenity!

Since it's off season it worked when we drove around the breakfast spots and looked for cars. It meant people enjoyed being there. And the cars were right: this was a delicious breakfast! The ambiance was so beautiful and peaceful. The butter pecan espresso was so delicious!! They had great gluten free options for me and I felt safe eating here as a celiac. Absolutely delicious, I would like the decorator to come to my house and help me lol. Our waiter Oliver was so helpful and always present when we needed something

Wa-tu-busy!!! It is what it is! I wanted to jump behind the "grab and go bakery" to help the poor lone girl trying to make breakfast and coffees for all the staring guests in line.

Just walked in from the street and I can only describe this as like a breakfast TARDIS adventure. You can't tell how amazing it is till you step inside. I walked in and they invited me to sit at the bar where a beautiful and talented barista gave me a custom oatmilk latte and advice on the menu. The food was very sophisticated and I had never had a poached egg before and I loved it! Perfect way to start my day with something healthy and lots of delicious coffee. It gets busier closer to 10 so you might want to pop in earlier to get a seat exactly where you want but that's it!

We discovered this great breakfast place while on vacation. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was amazing . I asked for extra crispy bacon and hash browns....I received both. It was wonderful. My husband wanted the extra crispy bacon and hash browns. Again, the next day, he ordered the same and they were both done perfectly. Exactly, as ordered, the 2nd time in a row. We highly recommend this place for breakfast. They serve lunch also.
Also this is a dog friendly establishment which includes a dog menu for your pups!! I wish I could give it more stars

Finally got back to Watusi after a 4 year break! The menu has changed quite a bit from what I remember but the quality hasn't dipped at all, in fact it may be better than ever.
Food: The smoked salmon eggs benedict was amazing. If you like lox or eggs benedict you must order this. Nothing extra is needed, perfect as is. The breakfast burrito was pretty darn good, especially with a bunch of cooked bell peppers and served with a home-made salsa.

Watusi is a great little restaurant/cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating in Hilton Head. The location isn't amazing, but the lovely outdoor patio surrounded by plants and trees makes up for it. Food was very good, as was the service. The homemade pancakes with fresh berries were delicious. The corned beef has was surprisingly light and had a refreshing twist with the fennel. Omelet was basic, but ok. They also have a bakery, but we did not try anything from there. They also serve matcha green tea which is a nice addition to a brunch menu. Watusi is so great. It's a cute breakfast/lunch/brunch spot really close to the Coligny Beach area, with really high quality food. I've been here several times for breakfast and lunch and been very happy with my meal each time.
For breakfast, I've tried the potato cake benedict. It was unique and really good, I didn't leave a single bite and I made sure I got all that yolky goodness. My boyfriend got coffee, that he was very happy with, and the red chorizo hash, which he said was the best breakfast he's ever had. I managed to steal a bite and all of the components worked

Friendly wait staff, clean tables and menus, family friendly. Food was awesome don't miss the 'coffee not coffee' section on back of the menu for some out of this world fresh smoothies. The nice thing is there is a coffee bar where you can order something while you wait then just chill on the patio until a table is ready. Will be back, great experience.

The very best breakfast place on the island and without a doubt the best coffee anywhere. The young ladies seem to put a lot of heart in your favorite breakfast brew. Also seems this place makes specialty healthy smoothies the same way. Eat here twice during our stay and wait staff and servers are friendly and attentive to you needs. This is a breakfast and lunch place only and also has a pretty kool gift shop attached, check it out as you are leaving or if by chance you might have a short wait. You can also go on line you can make a reservation for your time you like. Don't miss this

Solid breakfast spot on the Island. We came here for breakfast/brunch recently. There was a bit of a wait, but they had a good system for getting you seated where they text you when your table is ready.
The coffee was a hit with my husband, who liked their iced coffee. I had hot tea, which is served in a cute little pot with a mug. The hash browns were particularly tasty.
The service was slightly less attentive than it could have been, but otherwise a very good experience!

Bf ordered the Italian sandwich which came with kettle chips, or chips with pimento cheese. The chips and cheese were very good and nothing was left from the sandwich. I opted for the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. Quite different from our bagels in NJ, but sandwich was delicious and fresh.
