We are a family owned, award winning boutique winery in Historic Gruene. No longer do you have to drink just the wine from your area or your local store. You can experience wine made from juice from all around the world right here in your own backyard! We blend, ferment, age and bottle all our wines on premise.
Enjoy a tasting of any 4 of our wines and keep your souvenir glass for just $6.00 a person! We have not-too-dry traditional white and red wines, fruit-infused wines, and dessert wines, so there's something for just about everyone. We do not require reservations, guests will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
Whether you're having a bachelorette party, birthday party, reception, corporate event, reunion, or just a girl's day out, we've got you covered. We have 2 spaces available for your private party: our upstairs tasting area will hold up to 20 and our outside picnic area will seat up to 100 guests with lots of extra space for socializing.

I would give it a minus if I could. Rude server, not friendly, short, wanted to get you in and out. Didn't want to discuss the types of wine, just make your choice and move on.
Compared to the other two wineries we visited, there was no pride in your product. I can understand why as the wine they served was at best a grocery store box wine.
Would not go back and would no reccomend.

Winery on the Gruene is the perfect little spot to grab a glass of wine and relax.
If you've been to Gruene you know parking can be a little bit of a nightmare, that is why we love to come to this place since they have their own parking and is also located near the entrance to the town. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, with a cute little garden which is great for photos during spring. They have a decent selection of wines, which you can purchase by the glass or a bottle. If you are hungry, they also have a BBQ food truck but is not always open. Last but no least, if you are parent

Nice quaint place away from the mob of people visiting Gruene. First time visiting and loved the vibe and wine! They have something for everyone even the sweet tooth like me and Wifey!🤪 definitely have to do the wine tasting for $4! Plus the souvenir glasses for $2 more each! Great bargain! The infused wines were the favorites! Not the strongest but very tasteful! We bought 6 bottles and after leaving wish we bought more! Great service too!

My personal favorite is Gewurtztraminer (ask for Girls Are Meaner!) They have ports right now for the holidays. Bathroom on site and a food truck outside. Inside or outside for tasting. Parking on site. Pam is amazing and will help you out!

We went on a Saturday and it was not busy at all. I saw reviews on yelp and they were all very good. Hubby and l were at grapevine originally but it has changed a lot and really not for the better so we left to winery on the gruene. They do wine tastings 4 for $4 and you can add the glass for $2. They do not have a big list to choose from and they do not serve beer but it was cute inside and all the ladies working were very nice.

I'm hesitant to call this a winery because they don't grow their grapes however all of these stars are location location location. They're right on the Guadalupe River in downtown historic Gruene TX. If you're having a bridal party, etc. this is an ideal spot with great social distancing & a recently added BBQ Food Truck. I'm not giving it more stars because 1) they're not growing grapes & 2) I'm really not impressed with their products BUT I don't like sweet wines which they specialize in from the looks of their menu. Their service was impeccable

One and done. First time visit yesterday day will be our last. Wine was decent. Server was lousy with zero personality and no desire to do anything more than ring you up for your purchase. Told her we were first timers and her response was do you want to do a wine tasting, a glass or a bottle. Told her 2 glasses. Which kind? How about showing me the menu? All with a frown and no smile or welcome. The covered patio was not comfortable or aesthetically pleasing either. Better places to spend my money in Gruene.

Ughhh. Betsey was the worst. She was so rude. The Chardonnay was awful. Seriously, it's so bad and does not taste like Chardonnay. I gave her a $5 tip on a $5 glass of wine. She poured it in a plastic cup and I asked for a glass. She told me a wine glass would be $2 additional. OK! I just gave you a $100% tip, not happening.
Only reason this place is getting an additional star is bc the hostess was sweet. Don't waste your time on this place, it's crap. Also, be prepared to wear a mask and not get good service.

This has quickly become my go-to spot. The tastings here are 4 for $6 and then $1 each after that-- and you keep the cute glass, what a deal! Pictured is the wine-a-rita, mix your favorite wine with a frozen margarita mix. These wines are seriously delicious. I'm usually not into fruity wines, but these are done right and are amazing. The employees are super friendly and it's a good time every time we go. There's even a bbq food truck in the parking lot if you get hungry! Dog friendly patio, with some more secluded picnic benches if you'd like. Highly recommend!

The wine-arita was really good. I recommend the blackberry infused wine for it. I am rating this 3 stars due to the sarcastic worker inside. After witnessing multiple people walking in and out of the place, I followed suit and upon entering the establishment, I was greeted to a yell of, "Go to the window! There is a big sign outside!" Be respectful. I was just following suit trying to do the right thing during this "pandemic".

If you know what you want and are a true vino drinker like me, you can 'go for it' and just order a glass (Vino Blanco in my case, $5.00 per glass; see my receipt).
The vino selection here is decent and the customer service is even better. The only facet about this location that is not great is

Yes to finally finding wine that I like! My best friend comes here frequently and was excited to bring me when I visited for the weekend. I'm not a wine drinker at all, so I only go for the sweet tasting liquids. These fruit wines are so fun and delightful, and they had a great deal on flights ($4/4 samples, $1 for each additional sample). They have indoor and outdoor seating, and service was attentive and helpful. I definitely plan on ordering some wine online!

I definitely do not have a fine wine palate — typically if it’s cold and sweet I’m good to go. I did their wine tasting and got four wines that were fruit flavored, and they all tasted very artificial. The lady who served us was nice but was on her phone at one point and wasn’t particularly responsive. Not a fan of their wine at all, but I guess the positive is that their prices are cheap.

Super friendly staff - my lady did not ask about my wine taste. The menu is pretty detailed and you could ask questions. Large selection about 30+ wines.
You purchase 4 wines for $4 and they have cute souvenir wine glasses. And other cute merchandise.
Merlot was my favorite. I didn't buy bc I wasn't sure about getting it home!

Wow, how have I not written a review about Winery on the Gruene?! It's like my best friend's favorite place to go in Gruene so I've actually been so many times... We've been visiting since they were at the original location down the street like ten years ago in one of the new strip centers on the outskirts of the little village of Gruene! Winery on the Gruene got lucky when this location became available, right in the center of Gruene!

So my experience was around wine grown on property not this type of winery where the grapes are imported from other growers then produces different flavors of wine.
Very charming staff and was helpful on wine tasting. We choose four wines to taste from their menu and have different emo fave on what we thought of the wine. I must say the tasting serving are healthy pour and provide the opportunity to enjoy a little more of each wine.
For me most of the wine was somewhat sweet and berry tasting as the Merlot wine has a hint of sweet berry. Reminded me of when I was had my first drink of Boonesfarm
