With over 30+ years of providing medical care to patients, conducting research, and teaching, Dr. An Yen is a highly regarded dermatologist. Dr. Yen splits his time between teaching resident physicians, leading a charity for International Medical Education and practicing Dermatology. He works at University of California Davis as a part-time staff member and Clinical Professor in 2018.
I am a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and a board certified Dermatologist. My expertise centers on general dermatology including medical, surgical, and cosmetic services. With training in bioengineering, Allopathic and Ayurvedic medicine, I merge modern research and science with a personalized approach to each patient.
I believe that everyone deserves to have access to great medical care. As a provider I aim to treat every patient as if they were my own family and work together to find solutions to complex medical issues. I take an integrative approach and strive to provide exceptional care to my adult and pediatric patients.
As both a dermatologist and physician-scientist, I want you to look your best, achieve your health goals, and understand the science of your skin. I specialize in medical and surgical dermatology; cosmetic and laser skin surgery; skin cancer prevention, screening and management; eczema, psoriasis, acne, and rosacea.
As a native of northern California, I am excited to be able to provide exceptional dermatology care to the community in which I grew up. I am a both a general and pediatric dermatologist, so I am well equipped to treat every member of your family, from the most junior to the most senior. I strive to provide well-rounded, compassionate, and tailored care to all of my patients to fit their individual needs.

The doctor I was working with at PSI essentially told me that I was wrong about the diagnosis that all my other doctors suggested, even though it wasn't relative to my dermatology services, so I switched to another provider.
She's been good, but it definitely feels like a dermatology drive-thru; "Get in and get out!" and I don't feel my issues are addressed with very much seriousness.
Trying to get an urgent appointment for anything that needs addressing immediately is impossible. You're guaranteed to be waiting two months or so to be seen.

Doctor chambers and her staff have always done such a great job taking care of me. From the time I come in to the receptionist to the time I'm in the backroom I feel like I'm taking care of as individual. I appreciate their attention to my body but also to know me as a person asking about my family. makes me feel very much like I'm seen as a person not just another patient.

My first time appointment with Pacific Skin Institute last friday was absolutely impressive and delightful. All of my skin issues and questions were addressed. But mostly, I was so very pleasantly surprised that instead of only being prescribed more pharmaceuticals to treat my skin conditions. I was offered an opportunity to try to address the problems from a more holistic approach. I have never been more satisfied by any other dermatologist or any physician. P.S.I. .is willing to approach thing by addressing the root causes. Thru diet, exercise and most impressive of all, is offering me there

I went here for the first time a couple of years ago. Everything went fine until the doctor had me remove all of my clothing so he can do his skin inspection. Nothing unusual here but what bothered me was I was in a large room and one of his admin girls was taking notes for him while I was in my underwear in full view. These girls aren't nurses but even if they were I would expect the doctor to have me behind a blind or partition or something else to prevent the world from seeing me in my underwear. Since that person only needed to hear the doctor this would be EASY to do. This really caught

With a long history of serious skin cancer, I've been seeing Cynthia Chambers at Pacific Skin Institute for three years. Since a really good doctor is hard find, I wanted to let people know that she is amazing! Not only is she really sharp but also empathetic and kind. A rare find. I highly recommend her and if I wasn't moving out of the area, I would never leave.
