Everyone must be on board & respectful of what we are doing, in order to come into our space. We enjoy creating food that is simply prepared, hand made, BIG on flavor; using high quality ingredients. Some folks refer to our menu as "gourmet comfort cuisine". We just think of it as fresh, delicious food, prepared with love; and served in a comfortable laid back atmosphere, where all feel cozy and welcome.

We are husband and wife, Zhee Zhee and JC, and have been chefs, working in many facets of the food service and hospitality industry for over 20 years.

We were probably the first ones to visit upon opening this season. We were greeted warmly and emphatically by two front-staff members, who clearly have a passion for the food that they serve. They mentioned that they rotate menus every season, so we were the first to try this menu! They're currently doing takeout only but may change as the season progresses.
We ordered the following:
- pear mac and cheese app: delicious! However we did find it slightly lacking when you got a bite without pear
- lamb shank entree: cooked very well-- fall-off-the-bome tender

First time here to pick up takeout. I'm very impressed with the quality of the food, the pleasant service, and the Covid procedures. They were very nice and helpful over the phone. When I arrived a masked member of the waitstaff immediately greeted and directed me around to the back of the building where they had a setup in front of an open door to pay and pickup food - I appreciated not having to go inside at all. And the food was absolutely delicious! Thank you for the excellent experience, Spoon! A++

Splendidly cute location and atmosphere! We really enjoyed the Mac and Cheese (5/5) the Caramelized Onion Creamy Soup (5/5) and the side of Roasted Vegetables (5/5). We got the braised pork and the pork itself was great (5/5) We were not expecting the cauliflower to be as sour and spicy, but that’s our fault for not knowing what cauliflower escabeche was. That was the only sour part of the night, but overall a wonderful experience. If you are coming in the evening toward the end of summer or fall, bring layers, as not all the tables can be perfectly situated near the heat lamps.

Big portion and cozy vibe!
We were camping out in Tahoe but didn't want to cook so we came over to this cute and little place. The wait was about an hour as we didn't have reservations. The staffs were very friendly and we got seated outdoor.
We ordered the vegan bowl and the spaghetti meatball. The portion was surprisingly big! The ingredients were fresh too. However I can't say I liked the dishes very much. The meatballs tasted like homemade meatballs and it wasn't overly greasy. But it was definitely lacking a kick in the taste. Spaghetti was el dente too. Overall taste

The outdoor patio was very nice for Covid times dining, great ambiance, and super dog friendly! Servers were very friendly, not rushed, and offered water for the dogs as well. All the food tasted really good. It's a bit of a splurge but it's worth it for a nice dinner. One warning: if you have long hair, be careful getting up from the table because the tiki-style heat lamps are very close to where your head naturally wants to be when you stand up!

Great find away from the hustle and bustle of traffic. Seating was outdoors and surprisingly the weather played in everyone's favorite as it was comfortable.
We had a reservation at 3 as tables are limited and figured an early dinner was better than a late one - especially after our hike today. We were seated by a very sweet and attentive lady that one can tell truly enjoyed working there. A real smile throughout and a chuckle here and there. I'm not sure if she gave her name or maybe she did and I didn't hear it, but she was great.

Highly recommend if you're near tahoe city. We ordered the braised pork and the meatballs. The meatballs were corked perfectly and seasoned just enough to showcase the meat (most places over season their meat). Also the braised pork was fantastic, tender and juicy, but not heavy because the sauce had a bit of nice acidity, making the entire dish fresh and light.

This is a tiny little spot right next to the Airbnb we were staying at. We initially ate here because it was our only option, but it turned out to be delicious. We ordered the Linguini with Meatballs, the Mac and Cheese, and pretty much every dessert they had.
The Mac and Cheese was so unique, but in the most delicious way! The Meatballs were perfectly cooked and HUGE. The dessert was all sooo good too. Especially the Million Dolla' Slice. Definitely check this place out!

What a little gem in this resort area full of restaurants serving uninspired American food. Spoon is like an oasis in a desert. We ordered food to go and it tasted amazing when we brought it to our room at the Granlibakken resort. The ladies running the place were also very sweet. She saw me waiting outside brought my take out order to me instead of me needing to go indoors.

While my photo isn't the most elegant (hotel lighting and to-go boxes don't have the same effect), the food was SO good. This was my boyfriend and I's first time here, as we aren't from the area. I got the Linguine with Homemade Beef Meatballs and he got a chicken breast entree (can't recall the exact name). Both were so good. My entree had amazing flavor. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here the next time I visit Tahoe. The location is really cute. It is in a small little cabin-esque building. The decor is set up very cute. I can imagine it would be even better if

When your tired of resort food and want an affordable, high quality, fresh and healthy meal.. head to Spoon. Fabulous/friendly owners and food that belongs in a high end restaurant. Chicken was great - cooked spot on, excellent potato cake & sauce Soup of the day was amazing. Also really liked side of veggies - roasted perfectly with peppers squash and cauliflower.

We drove from North Lake Tahoe especially to try this restaurant as the reviews were generally very positive. The food didn't disappoint and actually surprised us how delicious it was. It's healthy and the owners' passion is felt in each spoonful. The service was impeccable and very friendly.
The restaurant is cosy and there was a slight draft on the ground floor but fortunately we were moved upstairs.

Friendly staff, delicious food with plenty of veg options, and an affordable price make Spoon now my favorite restaurant in Tahoe City! We ordered a wide variety of their vegan comfort food and were very pleased with all of them. The Mac n Cheese is incredible, the roasted veggies with linguini is wholesome and nutritious, the cake will make you die of happiness

Very cute place that is reasonably priced for Tahoe! Nice range of food with a lot of vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options, but still plenty of choices for meat eaters as well. Very nice outdoor seating with cute lights. The Mac n cheese was ridiculously good! But all of it was really good. We also got the roasted veggies and the med spread and finished with a few desserts. Also offer a selection of standard but good quality teas. There is a cute dog that greeted us. Overall definitely worth a visit and a nice ambiance for a quick bite to eat.
