Greenidge Funeral Homes, Inc. is a family owned and operated funeral home that was established on the Northside of Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1962, by Joseph F. Greenidge and his new bride Carolyn W. Greenidge. At that time, the funeral industry in the area was a like many businesses - segregated.

Though we are still an American-American owned business, we are proud to boast that we now serve all races and religions. Once you request the services of Greenidge Funeral Homes, we will immediately put our experienced funeral professionals to work for you. Our team of dedicated professionals will stay in contact with you every step of the way and guide you through the decision-making process.
Services
Funerals serve an important purpose: they allow us to recognize a life that was lived and acknowledge that the life has come to an end. Funerals exist for the living, for survivors who suffer the loss of a loved one. We understand that every family is different. Influences such as religious and cultural traditions, cost concerns and personal preferences make each funeral as unique as the person who is being honored.
Once you request the services of Greenidge Funeral Homes, we will immediately put our experienced funeral professionals to work for you. A single, dedicated individual will stay in contact with you every step of the way and guide you through the decision-making process.

He or she will carefully explain your options, make recommendations at your request, take care of all the small details, and ensure that you and your family's personal touch is always present.Joseph F. Greenidge, Jr. has literally worked at Greenidge Funeral Home since he was in short pants. As a toddler, he was a greeter during funerals ensuring that visitors signed the guest book.
Greenidge Funeral Homes provided an extraordinary level of service and support during a difficult period for us. Their staff, particularly Kerry Hall and Joe Greenidge, were helpful, patient, responsive, and extremely attentive to the many details involved in organizing my father's services. Their professionalism made a difficult process much smoother and helped to lessen the inevitable stress that surrounds planning a funeral.
The number of people choosing cremation has increased significantly in the past few years, yet cremation carries a long tradition and remains largely unchanged. Cremation simply expedites the process of reducing a body to bone fragments through application of intense heat. This process is performed in a respectful and dignified manner, and takes place in a crematorium where families can observe.

Don't think twice this is the place you want your precious loved ones to be taken care of in the last goodby. Greenidge Funeral Homes provided an extraordinary level of service and their professionalism made a difficult process much smoother and helped to lessen the inevitable stress that surrounds planning a funeral. There are so many details that need o to be sorted out, things that we didn't even know about. Joe was very patient with me, at our first meeting I came in with a notebook and pen and all my many questions. He listen, he addressed all of my concerns, he also advised and explained

When my father unexpectedly passed a state away from where I live, Greenidge was prompt and readily available to respond to my needs, showing me a patience that is clearly well developed and professional. I really appreciated them walking me through what needed to be done (at the height of stress and demands from other parties), and following up with me, as well as being available for additional paperwork-related issues of mine after the fact. Because of the suddenness of the death and lack of other avenues, I had to pay for services out of pocket on credit. That said, I'd like to report that I

In the last 5 months Greenidge Funeral Homes has handled the services for my Mother & Brother in law (They also handled my sister & Nieces funeral services as well, quite a few years ago).
My family & I were pleased with the way everything was handled. Joe Greenidge listened attentively to what our wants & needs were for both funerals. The services were tasteful and our loved ones looked amazing. The COVID Pandemic has made it difficult when having funeral services, but they made it work for us. They informed us in advance of the Guidelines and how we could potentially make it a smooth service

I appreciate everything Joe and his team did to make this transition as easy as possible during this difficult time. My mother looked beautiful and the gravesite ceremony went well. On behalf of my entire family we would like to extend our thanks and gratitude for arranging my mother’s journey home. Thank you!

The professionalism, communication, and process was wonderful. They did an awesome job managing our very large family. Thank you doesn’t seem to quite match the gratitude we feel for all that they did for us. Our mother looked beautiful!

On behalf of the Burton family, we would like to personally thank Mr. Joseph Greenidge and staff at the Greenidge Funeral home for their agape love during the time of our loss. During these times of uncertainty planning funerals; especially, long distant funerals can be very difficult. We were amazed at the exceptional professionalism and patience that we received. Thank you again for such a wonderful and hassle free experience.

Joseph was such a help to me and my family after my aunt's death. He walked us through every step of the way with care and compassion. Joseph knows everyone in the area, so he was quickly able to arrange the burial. He helped us make decisions by giving us several options and explaining them carefully. I so appreciate everything he and the entire team did for us.

My family's experience included the burial of both our parents. As both involved Arlington National, we required respectful storage as well as transportation. Every detail was handled with love and care, as if we were their family. They understood the emotions that surround the loss of loved ones and were very supportive, even in times of indecision on our part. We thank them and highly recommend Greenidge Funeral Homes Inc.
