I've been a member of Synergy of Franklin Square since 2007. I love the gym. The members feel like a family. Everyone is always helping each other to reach their goals. It doesn't matter if you are an experienced lifter or your first day. Members are there for each other. The staff and trainers are also amazing.
A HIIT class with the unique experience of moves that are perfectly in sync with the music, adding precision, accuracy & flare to an already effective format. Based on the concept of 'muscle confusion', this class uses common circuit training with ever changing moves to avoid the exercise plateau. Transition from move to move, with little rest, after a rigorous warm up and never hit a lull or stop seeing improvement with your workouts again.
Synergy Fitness employs over 100 Personal Trainers, all of whom travel between our six locations. This exclusive service guarantees that you will be partnered with a coach that you are comfortable with. Fraud......They are trying to coerce money from people. Refuse to sign for certified cancellation letter. Sent me to collection agency with no cause as I had frozen my membership.......Absolute worst business model ever. Do not go. They will be shutting their doors soon.

UPDATE--A complaint has been filed with the NY Attorney General's Office Civil Rights Bureau for discrimination due to pregnancy.
If I could give this gym 0 stars, I would. They discriminate heavily against pregnant women, which is against Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, part of the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978.
After COVID, on August 31, I canceled my account because I found out I was pregnant. It was a high-risk pregnancy, and I was told to take it easy. As every person knows, pregnancies are 9 months long, plus another two months for recovery.
From August 2020-August 2021, I

My wife was the member prior to Covid. She did not attempt to go to the gym during the pandemic. But she gave me the responsibility to close the account. I had called several times to cancel and the person had said he'll take care of it. However, the charges kept on appearing on our statements. I then walked in, and only then was told I had to write a letter to cancel which I did.
This week, we received a letter from their collection agency for $35. How stupid of them to send this out!!!!!! I've tried calling the agency to clear this matter, however, the phone continues to ring

Stay away from this establishment! Impossible to cancel they charge late fees even though they have access to charge your credit card timely. There is no one to talk to resolve an issue. They are so unprofessional.

Front desk employees are nice enough but they make you jump through hoops to cancel your membership, don’t inform of correct cancellation methods, and then fail to acknowledge cancellations while continuing to charge you. Currently still being charged since trying to cancel in January. They are unhelpful on the phone and don’t answer customer service emails. Save yourself the time, money and frustration and go to Hollywood Health Club in Long Beach instead.

Is zero stars an option? Do not get involved with this club. They make it very difficult to quit by requiring advance notice by mail to a PO Box. They will sign you up in the gym but can't explain why you need to cancel by mail. "It's in the contract". Lame. Of course, the whole point is apparently to screw you out of a few extra payments while you navigate a process by mail to exit. Please don't start with them. Not worth the headache.

Terrible experience with this gym - there are many better options. I've been living in bellmore for 10 years and have bounced around between gyms. By far the most frustrating front desk I've ever dealt with. The place is barely cleaned, and weights are often all over the place. The billing is ridiculous and disingenuous - when I left for college I specifically told them to freeze my account for the year. They agree to and I leave. Then I get billed for 3 months after I left. Don't waste your time with these guys. New management needed.

Improper billing practices. Beware. I called to cancel my membership in April at the start of covid. It appeared that all was good, as I received no further charges to my credit card.
One year later I get notified from a credit agency that I owe hundreds of dollars. Not even a call from Synergy to determine what the issue is.
Even the location I went to agrees that I should owe nothing.

I have emailed the home office, and have not received a reply. In speaking to other ex-members and reading some reviews below (read reviews from Nelson and Sharon), it seems that this is a common scam they

If I could give less stars I would. I don't write reviews often but I want people to be aware that this gym will charge you for "late" fees even though they take payments each month and when you try to dispute it they will not refund the money.
"Yeah the owners will not refund you for this even though you shouldn't have been charged" - Nice front desk employee that shouldn't be blamed
They also make it near impossible to quit. Find a better gym!

This gym has all the equipment you need to get in great shape. Cardiovascular and several exercise machines on the first floor and free weights, more machines, stretching and aerobic room on the second floor (huge area). Most gyms have been hit hard this year, but the staff are working diligently to maintain the required sanitary and health protocols. The best time to workout with the least amount of people is in the morning or around the last hour before closing.

Stay far away from Synergy. They are still trying to charge us 8 months after cancellation. The manager of LB location won't help or return phone calls. There is no corporate number to talk with someone to resolve. Certified letters are delivered but not acknowledged. Spend your money with an ethical business, not one taking advantage of former members during a pandemic.

The same thing that happened to Nelson, Patricia and others, happened to me. I sent a cancellation letter to an email address given to me by someone at the front desk, in March. Nevertheless, they charged the $30.00 monthly fee and then, several months later, tried to charge my credit card $49.99. I called their "business" office and was told, once again, to email them at the same address given to me in March. I then got a call from their billing department telling me that I owe them money. I explained the situation, was given a telephone number; I called that number and was told

Once a great gym new management took it over about a year and a half ago it has been falling to pieces since water fountain rarely worked padding and handles on equipment have not been replaced tears in seating and padding were never repaired $50 maintenance fee for what ? Save your money and shop around it is unfortunate I've been a member here since it was originally being built. Btw these issues were rampant before the virus. went back this week and they added a new aerobic room which shrunk the dumbbell area into a very tight space- bad decision.

Decent machines, great parking, best hours compared to surrounding gyms. Now for the cons, water fountain hardly works and they allow a private power lifting club with their instructors to use the squat racks 24/7. So if you want to squat or dead lift you can forget it, never seen this before at a public gym.

Not the gym for you if you plan on using the treadmills every one of them are broken, they all either overheat and stop or slow down by themselves or won't incline. The staff can't give a straight answer When asked when they will be fixed or replaced. The owner is to cheap to by new ones but doesn't mind charging a $25 maintenance fee every year which they are clearly not using to maintain the gym.

Good gym. Came over from the old xTreme fitness that closed down. They couldn't have made the transition easier. Gym has everything one would need and at least for me staff is always nice. Its not like the highest end gym in the world, and if that is what you want well then you can easily pay more and go to one that is. They plenty of equipment, machines, free weights. Definitely like the addition of the trx strap area.

Crowd is mixed which I like, young and old, fit and not so fit ( although seems to be a pretty fit crowd overall). You do get the occasional over grunters but for most
