Although our practice encompasses all aspects of dermatology, we have a keen interest in acne, rosacea, skin cancers and skin cancer surgeries, and aesthetics.

Our new office is well-situated at 3930 Pender Drive, Suite 210, Fairfax, Virginia 22030, a few minutes away from Fair Oaks Hospital, Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax Corner, as well as Exit 57A of Interstate 66. Depending on the time of the day, it is only a short drive from Washington DC, Arlington, McLean, Falls Church, Annandale, Springfield, Chantilly, South Riding, Centreville, Manassas, Gainesville or Sterling.

We are located on the same business campus as NRA National Firearms museum and US Social Security Administration, only a few miles from FairOaks Shopping Mall and Wegmans in Fairfax. This review is about the office and assistant personnel, not the doctor herself, since my appointment got cancelled. I have scheduled an appointment on a particular date, which was confirmed. I then received a text to call back and reschedule appointment that I have waiting for quite a long time. The receptionist was extremely rude, did not offer alternative slots in December (apart from New Year's eve) and directed me to ZocDoc again to search on my own if i want to meet the doctor. I've been searching for a new dermatologist and have finally found one! Unlike other dermatologists, you can often get an appointment within a couple of weeks and not months. There's a bit of a wait once you get there but I've experienced that with all dermatologists. And one late patient can throw off the whole day (be on time people!).
Doctor Abramova is wonderful. She's friendly and has a good bedside manner. She was quick but thorough with the examination.

If I could, I would rate it lower than one star. I picked the place because of all the positive reviews about the doctor, but failed to see the negative ones about the office. The place needs better administrators. We were a few minutes late due to an accident and the front desk person said we would need to reschedule. The next appointment is not available for another 2 months. We waited already for 2 months to get this one. Is this derm worth 4 months of waiting time??? Dr. Abramova is a fantastic doctor and a true diagnostician. For a decade, other doctors failed to diagnose my PCOS and autoimmune/inflammatory skin issues. Dr. Abramova pieced all of my symptoms together and provided multiple diagnoses the first time I saw her, and she has provided caring and effective treatment since. She has a great attitude, is highly knowledgeable, and I really appreciate that she’ll tell you exactly what she thinks without hesitation. I have been a patient of Dr. Abramova for many years (following her from a previous practice) as has my husband and daughter. We trust and respect her knowledge, experience and always appreciate her simplistic explanations and treatment approaches. Her office is exceptionally efficient and pleasant and I always know it won't be a super long wait to see her. They outsource their billing so I got sent to collections even though I am a current customer and was trying to resolve the issue with the order in which my primary and secondary insurance was billed. Left countless messages for their outsourced billing department and of course the office front desk (who is very nice) just says to call this number to resolve the billing issues. Will never be back. To management: take responsibility for working with your customers to resolve issues. Don't send your customers to collections while you're in the middle of dealing with a billing issue

Dr. Abramova helped clear my severe sudden onset of adult cystic acne with Accutane and regular support from her and her team throughout my treatment. Accutane is a tough medication but they always checked in and made adjustments for my mental health as well as physical. I felt heard and cared for under their treatment.

Dr. Abramova is wonderful. She's a great doctor and is very detailed with her skin exams. She also has a great bedside manner and really makes an effort to connect with her patients. She really cares. I've never felt rushed despite her office being busy. The staff have always been kind. I really like this office l and have been a patient for several years now.

I have been seeing Dr A for awhile now, and she has helped me through many issues. She listens and cares about her patients. Her staff is amazing and very patient. I have been through a lot lately with my skin and they all have been so helpful and put up with me and my anxiety over my skin. I couldn't have asked for a better doctors office. Dr. Abramova completely cleared my skin after YEARS of cystic acne around my mouth. I've struggled with bad breakouts since I was 13 and saw so many dermatologists who all recommended different oral medications and topical treatments. Nothing ever worked. Dr. Abramova seemed to understand the hormonal imbalances causing my acne since it was so centered around my mouth and wanted me to try one last thing before submitting to Accutane. I started Spironolactone in May of 2018 and by December began to see my skin change. Almost two years later, I'm still on the medicine with no side effects

Dr Abramova truly listens! She is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to thoroughly go through her exam as well as your concerns. Results come back quickly and she follows "spots" or other skin concerns with iPad photos to look back on months later. Awesome experience and glad my skin is well taken care of!

They made me laugh and she really listened to my concerns and made me feel validated for what I've been saying for years. She also told me if my prescriptions were too much money to get back to her on Monday and we'll work something out.
I'd highly recommend and it's awesome that they are open on Saturdays for m-f workers like myself! Give them a go if you're having any kinda skin problems :)

I saw this doctor because I have had scabs on my scalp for over 2 years and have seen 4 other doctor's and no one has been able to heal my condition. She looked at my scalp and asked me if I have depression and anxiety. When I told her yes, she said oh you have such and such...which is a condition that people get when they have depression and anxiety. She told me to see a Mental Health Professional. I don't agree with her Dx and I wont be seeing her again ..

She recommended biopsy and sure enough it was Basal Cell and I had Moh's surgery with a great skin Dr/Plastic Surgeon! NGB - Nice Gal But... I was not pleased with Dr. Abramova because I felt like she was not thorough enough. I have a myriad of skin conditions at all she want to tell me was that I don't have skin cancer. When I mentioned the other conditions I felt rushed off and given a quick blow off answer. I've been looking for a good dermatologist for many years, just came back from my first appointment, and I think I found one! I like her energetic positive attitude. She diagnosed a fungal infection within a couple of minutes She said it was an easy fix, and problem would be solved pretty fast. She explained what it is, where I probably got it (at the gym) and how to proceed next. I definitely recommend her and will be bringing the rest of my family here.

I went to Dermatology of Virginia on 7/7/17 for annual checkup. If you've ever had a skin mole check you know it can feel awkward. However, Dr. Abramova made it feel a lot less awkward. I also felt like she was not up-selling me with skin care products (which had been my experience at other dermatologists).
The only compliant I had (and it is somewhat minor) is the actually office can be a little hard to find. I ended parking at the way end of the lot and walking around for a while trying to locate the office.
In a nutshell, I'll be back next year to see Dr. Abramova again.

I've gone twice and had great experiences!
I used ZocDocs prior to both appointment, which may be favorable since all forms were completed prior to the visit. The front desk is always really nice to me, joking around, and very quick.
Dr. A is hilarious, intelligent, and sweet. I feel comfortable in her care.
