The staff was really nice but the food was incredibly disappointing. I got the clam chowder and it was anything but clam chowder. It was flavorless, no cream, but still think. My friend got pork tacos and it tasted like the meat was soaked in brown sugar for a few days. Cute location and again, very friendly staff.

The good part is the staff. Very friendly and accommodating. I was initially given an upstairs room but needed a lower level which they accommodated. They are pet friendly for $20 one time fee. The rooms are quaint and just enough room. They have a microwave and mini fridge. There are only a couple rooms with the view of the dock, which luckily I had one. The not so good...the only reason I chose this hotel was the restaurant and pub onsite. When we got there, discovered the pub and restaurant are only open Thursday through Sunday. Was really bummed out as nowhere on the site or anywhere else did

This place is absolutely adorable! We stayed in the motel. The rooms are super comfortable and clean. The mattresses are so comfortable. The towels are soft and fresh smelling. Best of all, it is super quiet and peaceful.
The pub has amazing food and local beers. The steamed class are fresh and served in a garlic sauce. They were so tasty. The Tuna melt was equally delicious with a bed of Tuna with a tomato slice and melted cheese layered on top.
I highly recommend a visit!

This place is so overpriced it was ridiculous. We booked thru a third party and they only offered a queen room even tho they had a king available because they wanted to hold out for more money. But they don't answer their phone ever. And when they finally call back its days later. The rooms were so small and shoddy. You couldn't get much cheaper quality. Tv counter was made from scrap wood. The showers were the smallest I've ever been in and theres no counter, table to put anything on. No table to sit so we had to eat our take out pizza on the bed. Its very noisy both in the evening

This place was pretty great! We booked through hotels.com, so you never really know, but they were really attentive and helpful for a no-frills place.
They originally had us upstairs but my wife has difficulty if there's no elevator so they found us a place on the first floor. Even allowed a late checkout!
My favorite thing was being able to communicate with the staff by text. As a notorious phonephobic, it was really helpful.
The only issue... I wish they didn't play loud music i the courtyard right outside the rooms. It didn't happen on Thursday but was present for much of Friday

This is 2 1/2 for food, 3 1/2 for service! Also note the Pub only has high tables with very high stools, so elderly or mobility challenged this is not for you if you cannot eat outside.
I was very limited for time. Looking at the menu l thought the Cuban sandwich would be fast (and cold). It's not! The person who took the order and the person who checked the status and packed the order were quick. It was Saturday market so I appreciated that. The order also substituted a salad for the potatoes. There was an extra charge.

I have stayed at the Salt several times, and it is exactly what I was looking for. Centrally located in the port of Ilwaco, it is perfect place to stay if you are headed out fishing the next day. Clean and comfortable. The Pub has great food and drink. The owners are super friendly and make you feel welcome.

Salt was the first place I went when I moved to Ilwaco WA. Something about the place called to me and for good reason. The food was great, the view amazing and the feel of the place is very modern yet comfortable. The menu has your obligatory staples: burger, tuna melt, fries, etc; however, even those items are prepared in a way that makes them special and down right better then any other restaurant I've been to on the peninsula. Everything is made from scratch and done with a twist that makes salt a very unique dinning experience. There is literally nothing on the menu I don't want

Simple. Clean. And most importantly they accept pups! Great spot to walk along the water with only a short drive to Astoria, Long Beach, and Cape Disappointment State Park. The pub has great food but can get kind loud at night. Would highly recommend.
Only complaint is the bottom of the door has a wide gap and got a little breezy. Solved easily with a rug folded and shoved beneath.

Don't go to this motel if you are expecting extra amenities. It is very simple with the basic necessities for a comfortable stay. Actually, I was impressed with the comfort of the beds and the customer service. They are very accommodating and friendly, and the service was professional.
The rooms are small, and if you want the extras like hair dryers and an in-room coffee maker, you will need to request them; but the rooms are clean and close to galleries, cafes and the boats if you are spending the day on a fishing excursion.

The owner is excellent and wants people to explore and enjoy the local environs. The rooms are quaint, clean, and a comfortable base camp for your adventures.
The pub attached is comfortable and makes some fantastic food, with well crafted drinks to match and a beautiful view of the port.
Overall, an excellent stay. I am looking forward to visiting again in the future

Color me very impressed. The room I stayed in was cozy, comfortable and very clean. A great place as a headquarters for your adventures on the peninsula. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is pet friendly, which is great!
They also have a great little pub. The menu is small but to die for. Definitely try the pulled pork nachos. Heaven! Quick and friendly service as well. The pub is family friendly and it also has a pool table. Great place to have a yummy meal and a quick get away when it's pouring outside.
I'm already planning my next visit!

An awesome location right on the Ilwaco harbor. My two annoying terriers and I spent three days/two nights in a cozy queen and really enjoyed the hotel. The proprietors (Jules and Leila) are SUPER friendly and accommodating and have done a great job physically refurbishing the hotel. I have been sharing this excellent get-away location with all my friends and will certainly be visiting again!!
I'm saving my five-star rating for my next visit when they've finished up the public spaces and get the upstairs kitchen going!
