It's important that drugs and medical treatments are safe and effective. Every FDA-approved medication, treatment or medical device available today has at some time been tested in a clinical trial (and often more than one). We conduct clinical trials to predict how well a medication or therapy will perform in the general population when used to treat a certain condition.
Clinical research studies measure the effectiveness and safety of medications or treatments. All studies are conducted under the strict regulation of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and a sponsoring pharmaceutical company or other sponsoring entity. Every clinical trial in the U.S. must be approved and monitored by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) to make sure the risks are as low as possible and are worth any potential benefits.
There are many reasons people want to be part of a clinical trial. Your goals may be different than other patients - even those with the same medical condition. One thing we know for certain is the benefits of study participation extend well beyond your own personal health. Free physical examination and testing (often including lab work, EKG, ultrasounds, comprehensive screenings, and other tests appropriate to the study).

Research studies are necessary.
So it turns out that I'm vaccinated by taking the chance of finding a covid vaccine.
Don't know how this would have worked out had I gotten the placebo shot instead. Human Guinea pigs are harder to come by now, for some reason.
I did it so my family wouldn't have to.
And I think the Jannsen Shot is better than the others.
Grateful for that.
This is Week 52 since that day.
Still on this side of the grass , fortunately.
Have a Nice Day.

Very slow and disorganized. I was recruited for the j and j coronavirus vaccine trial. I arrived at 8am ( the second patient of the day) and was subjected to endless waiting. When I complained, they said I would need to be there until around 11 or 12!! So I had to drop out of the trial and leave for workl

They just take too long. And don't have perks like gift cards rides ..Just standard. But Nicole is one of the best! Very friendly down to earth informative. She really makes you feel at home. Like you've known her forever. Personality is on point. Lakisha is great! And Dr.Todd Simmons so friendly down to earth as well. 4 out of 5 stars because of them!!

3 stars solely on because most of the people there is nice. But I wouldn't recommend this research site. They don't have any perks that other sites have which is a big one transportation. Other sites such as Artemis and eStudy provide transportation to and from the facility and also if you don't get in a study they provide a gift card with two choices usually Starbucks or Shell gas card. Which hey is better than nothing for your time and travel. Medical center for clinical research provides diddly squat. Oh and one more thing they pay less. For example the same study you can be paid $75 at estudy
