Dr. Stephen Hakimi earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston in Texas, and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he also completed a low-vision/geriatric internship, a binocular-vision/pediatrics internship, and a contact lens internship.

Have been looking for a good doctor for my doctor and finally found one. My kids are comfortable and not scared at all going to get their eyes checked. They go by themselves...I still follow tho. But that’s what I was looking for the nurses are great and Dr. Acosta will be my daughters doctor. Thank you Pasadena eye associates.

I love Pasadena Eye Associates! I have had zero issues with them since becoming a patient. I used Dr. Acosta until he moved, then began to see Dr. Segal. I recently had LASIK with him, and highly recommend he and his staff! The process was quick, comfortable, and affordable. I’ve found my family eye center for life.

My fiancé scratched his cornea last night. We tried to go to urgent care but couldn’t find one that was open and could see us. After a very painful and long night, he woke up even worse than he was yesterday. I called a few of the optometrists and ophthalmologist offices but even though it was a mild emergency, they could not see us in a timely manner. It was a very stressful situation. Not a good experience at this place.. Def.dont recommend to anyone. My daughter was sent to check eyes, had a not so kid friendly nurse put eyedrops in her eyes.. Then they prescribed her some really strong glasses me and my family could tell was not needed for her AT ALL. ALSO my father n law had an operation there on 1 of his eyes leaving it worse than what it was when he walked in. On top of that while I waited there heard another guy arguing with the staff because he knew they were trying to operate on his eyes knowing he could see fine from them so he left. Don't know what kind of education

I am writing a review on the new doctor here, Dr. Acosta. I was a little leery seeing a doctor of whom I knew nothing, but Dr. Hakimi was not in on the day we could come, so I took my 19 yo daughter to see Dr. Acosta for an annual exam for glasses and contacts. We really appreciated his friendliness and frankness. He was super personable and very easy to talk to. We are a family of 5, and we will be making this man our permanent eye doctor in the future. As a matter of fact, I made three more appointments to see him, for myself and two other family members, as I checked out.

I have been going here for 3 years now. Dr. Hakimi is excellent. He spends a lot of time getting your perscription correct and allows you to try multiple types of contacts until you find the right one without an extra charge. I have been a contact wearer for almost 30 years - this office gives you a very thorough and comprehensive examination- probably the best I have ever had. I love that they have the retinal scan option so you don't have to dialate your eyes. They could work on the timing of there appointments - I don't expect to wait so long when I have an appointment first

The doctor has be excellent in providing care for me before and after surgery. He made himself available 24/7 if i had any questions or concerns. During surgery i was able to relax and not have any anxiety because he was talking me through everything. I would not change anything i did. i will recommend this doctor to anyone i know that is wanting the surgery done.

Dr. Segal and his staff were professional from the start. I was able to quickly and easily make a consultation appointment. Everyone was so welcoming and patient answering questions, explaining the LASIK procedure, and making sure I was informed to make a sound decision. I had concerns because of my age (37 with a family history of dry eye) but Dr. Segal assured me after looking at my initial exam results I would still be an excellent candidate for LASIK. During the procedure itself, I felt very comfortable and very relaxed. Everything was explained to me before it happened so I knew what to expect

Dr Segal is AMAZING! I have known him and been with Pasadena Eye Associates since 1998, and my whole family and it's growing members come here. The care is compassionate, everyone takes a real interest in you as a patient instead of just going with the motions. Dr. Segal did my Lasik surgery back in 2009, and it is by far the best investment in my health I have made! My vision is still better than 20/20 in 2016, and I have never had any dryness or halos at night, or any other problems with my vision since my surgery 7 years ago! I would highly recommend this practice and Dr. Segal for your vision

Im being harassed to pick up contacts I never asked to order. My daughter had an eye exam for contacts and made it clear I only wanted the prescription since I would order contacts online. Kept getting phone calls that the contacts were ready to be picked up. I called back every time and informed them that I did not order any contacts and only wanted the prescription. Every time the person answering the phone said ok. Now im getting an email threatening that I will be charged a restocking fee if I don't pick up the contacts! I will never go to this place again and I recommend you go elsewhere

This office will text you without authorization to do so. The office does not recognize appointments. You might be late, they might call you and expect you to drop your day and come early as a convenience to them. My husband went in because he had something stuck in his eye for over two weeks. They were able to quickly remove the object embedded in his eye. The only negative thing I have to say is that we had an appointment at 11 and we're not seen until 11:15. We were out by 11:55. They had very friendly staff. We will definitely be going back.

Dr Scott Segal is truly amazing! His entire staff is warming and completely helpful from start to finish. I went to two consultation for LASIK, and after speaking with Dr. Segal, I knew immediately he would be the doctor for me. He completely makes you feel at ease and walks you through the entire process. Unlike the other places, he is the one that does the pre-op exams, the actual surgery, and your post-op examination, so you aren't passed around through other doctors. I will refer anyone to see Dr. Segal in a heartbeat! This procedure is truly life changing.
