I purchased a series of three makeup lessons with Shara Strand for my daughter’s 14th birthday present this year. She said it was the best gift I had ever given her! In all of my dealings with Shara, she was friendly and a total professional. Her makeup studio at the beautiful Pierre Hotel is a calming oasis in this huge city. I had THE BEST eyebrow shaping from Shara Strand in the Hamptons yesterday!! She spent at least 30 minutes or so tweezing and trimming hair by hair. It was definitely life changing. My face looks so much more open now. I look so much cleaner and fresher. Really, I have met my brow queen and will never trust another with them. Shara just cares so much to get them as perfect as they can be, and also gives tips for filling them in as well I will try tinting next. I was a client over a year ago and every day when I wake up and put on my face I praise the work of Shara!! I don't ever shop for makeup anymore and waste my money, I love how my color palette she chose works with everything - I love knowing how to take a day look and make it a bit more special for evening ! Additionally, she is a wonderful resource for tips on better skin. I had been experiencing mild acne and even the dermatologist didn't seem to have a reason for why it was happening. Shara not only diagnosed which product I was using to cause the acne, but offered solutions that have really changed the quality of my skin to be 100% clear and healthy looking.

I just had to write this review of Maggie Esmond for private makeup lesson. She is super professional and picked the right shade for my skin tone. She knew exactly what foundation to use for my oily face, what eye shadow will pop my eye and she picked the right lipstick to give me a glam look. I was so satisfied with her make up that I have returned couple of times for additional sessions. She also gave me helpful tips for everyday look, apparently I was doing it all wrong. My sister and I are hopeless when it comes to makeup, so we had a lesson with Maggie, who was not only knowledgeable but incredibly friendly and an excellent teacher. The Best: Anytime I am in NYC and need my makeup done, I reach out to Shara. She has a team of truly talented makeup artists, (Jennifer, Frances and Maggie are super talented and full of knowledge you can apply to your daily makeup routine). I don't wear a lot of makeup but whether I have an event or just a dinner party, (bold/heavy or light makeup) my makeup looks natural. Not having worn makeup for many years I made an appointment with Shara for an update on how to apply makeup for a natural (not made up) look. Shara was great. We worked together to get the right colors, she gave me easy application tips, and I love, love, love her own reasonably priced product line. I left her studio looking great. Shara is the best.

I choose Jennifer Margaret, for a make-up lesson based on how her makeup looked on the picture and I'm glad I did. I am the worst at makeup, but this amazing beautiful lady made me able to do a great makeup application on the first try AFTER the session. And this was 3 days after our session. Today my mom and I went for make up lessons with Maggie. She was extremely friendly and patient! She took the time to explain everything to us. We brought our own brushes with us so she could let us know which ones were for what & was able to supply us with what we were missing. She did not push the products on us at all but we were so impressed we ended up almost buying everything! Most importantly, we walked out looking beautiful! We had such a fun girls day and would definitely go back!

I had an appointment with Danielle this past Saturday. I'm having a destination wedding so I wanted to get the right look and learn to apply it myself, since it's a risk trying someone new right on wedding day.
The makeup lesson was so much fun! Danielle is professional, warm and friendly, and really encouraging! Going in I felt kind of awkward because my makeup application skills are so rudimentary (and sometimes makeup people can be a little snobby?) but Danielle was the opposite and made me feel really comfortable and I was completely at ease. I felt pampered!

I just had to write this unsolicited review of Shara. I decided to treat myself and bought a Yelp deal for a private makeup lesson. It was super convenient to book the appointment online. Shara is all smiles and so warm and personable. I'm pretty good at putting on my makeup so I wasn't sure how much I would 'learn' but Shara definitely taught me some techniques and gave my makeup routine a much needed re-boot. Just had to share an amazing experience I had and pass along to any of you busy mommas who can really benefit from her....I found myself running around all day and then having plans at night and not being able to transition from day to night (I am also totally incompetant when it comes to doing my make up). Shara's MakeUp studio gave me an awesome makeup lesson to do my full face and then just add on a little extra for night, went through step by step and ended up buying a ton of producst. Shara couldn't be nicer. Studio was very nice and private. She listened to what I wanted for my engagement shoot. Her pricing was very reasonable. I didn't do a trial which was a bit of a risk but well worth it. I made the appointment the day before, online, making things super easy. Shara was professional, punctual and a joy to chat with as she made me look my best.

I was given a Groupon as a gift for the 1 hour makeup application lesson at Christmas in 2013. I finally went in to use it the other week and I cannot tell you how happy I am. First of all, I had a scheduling mix up when I first arranged to use it in December, but the ladies at Shara were fine with me postponing it until, eventually, February, even though it had technically expired in December - super sweet and accommodating. Second of all, I am not the best candidate for such an experience because I have terribly sensitive skin AND I am wary of people using foreign products on my face. So, poor

I went for a 60 min make up lesson. It was a life changing experience. I learned so much and can not wait to go back to learn more.
I highly recommend going for a make up lesson or gifting it to your friends or family for holidays & birthdays.
I had no idea how easy it would be to achieve a flawless, rested complexion. I am not at all skilled when it comes to make up, I have a hard time painting my nails! She was very through and extremely friendly and easy to talk to.

I arrived late because of train issues but I didn't feel like Danielle rushed or short cut me in any way. I got the 90 minute make up lesson so she walked me through the day look and night look.
