Edgewater Inn

Their website took my money without telling me. It gave me an error when I was booking, and then proceeded to charge my card anyways. I thought it didn't book so I booked a different hotel, not knowing I was charged. When I found out I tried contacting the hotel and they rejected giving back my money even though this was an accidental transaction. I'll have to dispute this transaction with my bank now. What a poor, maddening experience.

I tripped on a rug outside the office of the hotel today and fell to the ground. When I reported it to the desk, the FOUR people behind the screen stared at me. Not one of them asked if I was OK, if I was hurt. They just stared like I was lying. The one male took a look out the window at the rug, turned to me and shrugged. Luckily this 66 yo was not injured, just bruises but people my age DO get hurt often when they fall. If I could trip on the rug in my converse sneakers, think what could happen to an 80yo with a walker!! Very dismayed at this treatment. MY team members would not be allowed

Filthy outside and inside room 338. Location was great. Very disappointed. Our stay was shortened by a day because American Airlines flight delays caused us to miss connecting flight. We were charged $208. For… that night and thus far have not been refunded by Expedia or Edgewater Inn. Our feet were black as we crawled into bed the first night. We used socks to walk around after that. When we showered the next morning the water was rusty. The windows were so dirty inside and out, the view was obscured.

Filthy inside and outside. We stayed 10/30/21-11/01/21. Airline delay caused missed connecting flight so we missed staying 10/29/21. We were charged $208 for that night. Over $700 for the 3 nights. For California to be so strict regarding masksetc.. this place was a not funny joke.

Little paint, move vending & ice machines (location different than the hallway), fix parking, improve landscaping and add space to the balcony's (too narrow) .

Management does not care about customers' comfort. There is a prevailing take-it-or-leave it attitude. This hotel is irresponsible to customers. It's a hit or miss "inn". While it's listed as a "non-smoking" hotel/inn, management does not enforce the non-smoking "policy". We've stayed at this place for over 15 years and it gets worse every year. Don't be fooled.

I really like this place. Close to everything but not super expensive. Not super high class and have had tiny problems here and there but not enough for us to never come back.

Again, I don't really like leaving a review below four stars for any business, but this hotel just wasn't worth much more than three, maybe three and a half.

Positives:

They have all of the essentials (microwave, refrigerator, closet, etc.), the beds are pretty comfortable, they serve a grab-and-go breakfast, the room was relatively clean when we arrived, and it's in a great location. Although I didn't need them, I think the staff was pretty good. If you get lucky, you can book a room that looks out onto the water at Pismo Beach.

Negatives:

The room has really thin walls

First of all, all the employees there are really nice and wonderful. We arrived early, parked, and they allowed us to check in early. Before we got settled, we wanted to make sure everything was sanitized so we wiped down a little. Everything was already spotless :) which was greatly appreciated. Bedroom, bathroom, patio, everything was nice and clean!!! They offer to go bags for breakfast and the muffins tasted homemade and fresh. They were some of the best muffins I've ever had. The location of the hotel was close to everything. 5 minute walk to downtown and the pier and don't forget

I am going to give you an accurate review of this "hotel".

#1. This hotel is in NO WAY a wheelchair friendly hotel! There was a ramp to our hotel room... yes... but it was blocked by cars because they did not designate the space as a handicap area. So it was blocked in by cars all the time.
Their version of a king sized bed is in no way a king or even a California King (If it was a California King, they advertised it as a king). It was a QUEEN sized bed. Do not be fooled. We owned a queen sized bed and now we own a king sized bed so we know that this was a QUEEN sized bed and we paid

It’s has a really beautiful océan view and close to all the shops such as cinnamon rolls and subway and líquior. The rooms are so nice too plus the suites try our Coffee it’s the best. ♥️♥️

I have always had very high quality experiences when it comes to customer service, they have an excellent laundry service the woman even folded baby socks it was so cute, the front desk helped me carry my luggage to my car they are exceptionally great.

The hotel itself I would say maybe four stars but the customer experience or at least mine anyways I give a five.

We stayed for two nights and three days with our dog Daisy. The room was clean, all the basic amenities are available and staff were always available and so friendly. All the popular places were in walking distance and we never had to drive anywhere for our time there. This will become one of our regular places to stay from now on.

We love this place has everything we need the family suites are awesome the ocean is our back yard and walking distance to restaurants and my favorite all the shops for shopping 🌊🏖🛍

We stayed here last year and again this year. I really liked that we were able to checkin early which really helps out when traveling....!!! It's such a treat to be able to walk right out your door and right down to the beach. The nice walks along the pier and Brads restaurant has great clam chowder and very good fish and chips!!! The Splash cafe also has great clam chowder in a bread bowl. I was very grateful they gave us the same room as last year and it had a view. It's right by the ocean and also the staff was SOOOO extremely nice!!! I loved how kind they all were! It's amazing location from the beach and also drinking water, tea and these amazing MUFFINS in the breakfast bag! Not sure if the owner bakes them or if it's bought locally but DELICIOUS

Sadly the walls are paper thin and not insulated. If you want a quiet place to sleep you won’t get it here.

I haven't stepped foot in our room yet but from the get go the staff seemed to be confused. We called and booked for 3 days, 2 nights type of thing. We drive three hours to then be told they put us in for one day and if we want another room for two days it'll be almost double what we were told we would pay while calling it in prior. Not very happy with the first impression of this place. If the accommodations aren't what they were said they would I'm going to speak to managment or corporate because I wouldn't have book had I known I was going to pay double after driving

I wish I could say you get what you pay for but in this case it is completely not true. This filthy hotel should be closed down. They are in no way COVID compliance nor are they clean at all. As you can see in the photo post we were subject to not only a horrible room but even worse customer service.

We had no way of backing out of this place without losing our money and the manger Robert and his staff knew that. They said nothing to us about the property like were the elevator was or were to find the ice machine. We we told it was a non smoking property. That obviously meant inside the room obviously

We were in town for a birthday party but the beach house the host reserved did not have enough room for our group so we booked a hotel. We found Edgewater Inn and Suites on a third party website and booked it because of the low nightly rate.

When we arrived, the hotel put us in room 212 which was the smallest hotel room I have seen in a while -- there was barely any walking space. Our "partial ocean view" was literally a view of the parking lot from the balcony and the laundry mat from the front door. We've stayed in a lot of cheaper hotels and usually live by the rule of "you get what you pay for". However, when it comes to general cleanliness of a hotel room, we do expect some basic needs to be met.

First complaint: The hotel floor was so dirty that when we walked from the bed to the bathroom, our feet turned noticeably black and dirty. We ended up having to keep a towel next to the bed to wipe our feet on before getting in. I'd like to mention, we're in a pandemic- if the floors are this dirty, what else are they failing to properly clean?

Glad we chose Edgewater. It's a basic hotel in that it doesn't offer higher end amenities or anything, but their location is pretty perfect. Which is why I'm sure people are OK with paying the price. The access to the beach was wonderful.
We enjoyed the view from our room very much. The hotel is also within walking distance of great restaurants and shops.
The staff here was absolutely great in every way. Every one was polite, professional, efficient, helpful, kind, courteous. So that was a huge plus.
Also appreciate how pet friendly they are. And the place has ample and easy parking

We were taking a trip up the coastal highway and needed a place to crash. We found Edgewater inn through a orbitz dot com, and it stuck out the most to us because they were pet friendly, AND, pets stay free! So we immediately looked into it. After calling to confirm that and pricing too, it was cheaper to order through orbitz, like $30 cheaper.

The room we got had everything we needed. Also, we were here on a Monday morning so parking for us was a breeze, we got a spot right next to our hotel door on the first floor.
