We miss our Italian Oven in Mechanicsburg so much, so I was delighted to find this by chance. The facility is a little tired and could use a refresh, but my server, Abbie, was great and very helpful. The salad was kind of sad and wilted (it’s February), but my eggplant parm was delicious and hot. The pasta was not overcooked, and that Italian Oven marinara… just as I remembered.♥️ I took home lasagna and a chicken Texas stromboli to the family, and both dinners got high marks. I’m so glad I decided to stop.

I got il primo specialty dinner in which I have gotten many many times. I always look forward to going there. The lasagna was absolutely the worst I have ever had anywhere. There was no meat. It was cheese and noodles with Marinara sauce on top. Didn't even appear to have been baked. I was shocked because I always loved this dish. Totally disappointed.

I came here with my mom and sister after visiting the Flight 93 Memorial. The draft beers were ice cold...served in frosty glasses...which made us immediately happy. We ordered a cup of Italian wedding soup, two cups of roasted red pepper soup, a medium pizza with sausage, banana peppers, and mushrooms, and pasta marinara with linguini and meatballs. Everything was DELICIOUS and I sincerely mean that. The banana peppers were fresh and loved the cheese and crust on the pizza. The meatballs and marinara were full of flavor. Highly recommend. We also really enjoyed talking with our server, "Jeff

Not a local. Just passing through off the turnpike.
I ordered the "taste of Italy"
It was alright. Eggplant parmesan was probably the best thing out of it though.
Honestly we almost didn't come in cause we thought the place was closed since their sign light wasn't on, and the parking lot was empty.
The whole time, from pulling into the parking lot to leaving it, the place gave me a 'Kitchen Nightmares' vibe that made us nervous to come in.
"Why are we the only ones dining here at 7:30pm? Do The locals know something that we don't?"
Upon walking in we saw a sign that they were hiring in "All

We are big fans of the Italian oven at the galleria which is the way a Italian oven should be....this one is far from it there is no flavor to the food it’s almost tasteless and it’s definitely not worth the money if your looking for the real Italian oven go to the galleria in Johnstown that’s where the food still follows the tradition

A gem in the heart of Somerset! Fried Zucchini unlike any other I have had and it was divine. Accompanied by a delightfully tangy horseradish sauce, it was crispy yet not greasy. Manicotti was the perfect blend of cheese, sauce and herbs. Definitely home made and the portion was enough to have for lunch the next day. The service wasn't GREAT but adequate. One thing that did bother me was that while we were there, a woman fell on a wet floor and the manager insisted that it was due to her being imbalanced on her high heels. Clearly that was not the case and I do hope that woman was not

This used to be a weekend staple for my family when I was growing up. So my husband and I decided to check it out while visiting Seven Springs this weekend. It was more quiet than I remember, but that could've been the fact that we came later on a Sunday night. Food was delicious - the red pepper soup was lovely and the pan fried pierogies were my husband's favorite! Zach took extremely good care of us - he was friendly, attentive and gracious. He went above and beyond to make sure our dinner was great. And it was!

No update in stars and everything I wrote before stays. No opinion change.
But as of the 2/5/15 local real estate brochure, the place is for sale and my server said the owners were retiring, so perhaps some changes will be made.
I really want to find a great Italian place in Somerset for my ski trips to this town.

I ordered a sirloin and my fiance ordered the chicken Alfredo. The bread tasted weird, and the onion straws left a weird after taste. The chicken Alfredo was bland and chewy. I'm not sure if my sirloin was actually beef. I asked about the hole in the ceiling, apparently the waitresses dad was the roofer. we both took a couple bites and gave the food back. I still had to pay for the Alfredo and the weird onion straws that apparently took 5 seconds to make. The chef didn't understand what medium steak is. We stopped at dollar general afterwards and the cashier informed us how nasty

I am from a small town in Kentucky but have family in somerset. We recently visited for a week and decided to try something other than King's or Ruby Tuesday. My family absolutely loves this restaurant! So, my husband and I gave it a go. It was a Friday night, and me being a server, I expected it to be very busy. It was. First, there was a good amount of people standing up by the host's stand but no host/hostess. . .on a Friday night?! Unheard of. Waitresses were running back and forth ensuring that we would be taken care of, which I liked because we weren't being ignored, they were

Sadly, this Italian Oven (apparently the original) has gone from one of the best restaurants in Somerset to one of the worst.
We brought some out-of-town guests here trying to avoid the chain restaurants like Eat-n-Park and Ruby Tuesdays. I was incredibly embarrassed by the poor service and overall uneatable quality of the food.
The pirogies appetizer was nasty. They were really slimy and completely undercooked (we sent them back since they were still cold in the middle). I think it should be a misdemeanor (if not a felony) to serve frozen pirogies in western PA.

Visited here based on locals recommendation. I know you'll not get a perfect experience everytime. For a first impression, they didn't do to well. They put us in the dining room facing the parking lot and forgot about us. How do I know they forgot? We waited for 10 minutes (I timed it), I got up to ask if they forgot about us, as I approached a waitress in by the register, she asked if we were ready. If she didn't know we were there, she'd of asked if she could help us. The red pepper soup was delicious. I got the cajun chicken sandwich, I think they forgot the cajun
