Light weight - The heavier weight of steel puts an additional load on your brakes, alignment and suspension meaning lost performance!. Doesn't Rust - Aluminum does not rust and with our tough, attractive, powder coated finishing, your bumper, ladder, storage box, or other Aluminess products will maintain their finish for years to come.

Introducing our rear door passenger side BackPack - designed for the 2019+ Sprinter and 2015+ Transit Van. This product is designed to grow with your needs and is customizable to your adventure! The BackPack is super light weight and requires no drilling through the van door to secure it. We have also produced a variety.
Services
Aluminess Products, Inc. is located in Santee, California which is thirty minutes from downtown San Diego. We have been in business for over 12 years and we have established a solid reputation for manufacturing quality aluminum products for trucks, vans, and SUV's. We are proud to offer products that are "Made in America".
Products shown with available options. Lights, shackles, winches, receivers, and brush guard crossbars not included in standard bumper price. Aluminess designed the front winch bumper for the 1992-2007 Ford Econoline to look good and perform even better. The all-aluminum construction weighs just 85 pounds, so there is no need to worry about brakes, suspension, steering, and tires wearing out prematurely.
Storage is a premium when converting a van into your home away from home. If your Ford Econoline is a 44, then you also have to compete with a tire that no longer fits underneath your van. The solution is an Aluminess off road rear bumper equipped with the spare tire carrier and the box swing arm. With 2 swing arms to hold your spare tire and a storage box, you will now have more room for the essentials to put inside your Econoline.
The Aluminess Bike Rack Swing Arm is designed to replace the existing box arm on your Aluminess rear bumper. The bike rack swing arm is able to hold 2 bikes and swing open with your Aluminess Box. The swing arm is designed to clear tires up to 35 in diameter and is available for most of our existing rear bumpers.
Choose your van's body length, desired roof rack flooring and mounting style to determine pricing. Most people purchase vans so they can take lots of people and lots of gear without towing a U-haul trailer or bringing along a second car. What happens when you have too many friends? Where are you going to put all that gear?

If you need a product by a certain time frame do not waste your time with aluminess. Purchased a product for pickup then while mobile (due to using van) scheduled to have it delivered to remote location. If the product was confirmed in stock why did it take a week to ship? After being paid for 2 months in advance? Staff is nice but clearly useless as there customer service cant walk 5 cubicles down to discuss issues with the shipping department.
I dont ever write reviews but this is unacceptable. No way can a shipping department for in stock and paid for van parts take a week to ship.

Aluminess made it very easy to order a rack that fit my van nicely. The cutout for my fan was perfect. Make sure you take accurate measurements, from the exact reference points they list. The rack is sturdy and quiet going down the road at highway speeds. One note, this is not an easy install for persons with no experience. A rack this big requires a very tall hoist or piece of equipment capable of lifting several hundred pounds 10+ feet off of the ground. Aluminess was very transparent regarding the lead time for my rack. They make a fantastic product.

Expensive Mistake? I hope not. On June 25th I ordered about $2k worth of Door Rack, Galley Box, and Rail. I was told by Chase that they were a bit behind and that it wouldn't ship until August 20th. I figured with the current state of things, that would be alright.
A few weeks later I was informed, via Email, by Sergio that my order would be delayed until September 3rd. What was one to do? That date came and went, no order, no contact. I contacted Aluminess and Hannah replied to "Clarify" the progress. Informing me that some of the parts were on their way to the powder coating company

Couldn't be happier. Due to supply chain issues, it took a few months to get, but it was well worth the wait. It was packaged (crated) very well and arrived without a single scratch. Initially, I thought it might be a bear to install as bumpers have an awkward shape, but this bumper was light enough for two of us to basically lift into place. We didn't even need a hoist or anything and found that a simple shop chair was all we needed to line it up for mounting (see photo).
It came with all of the necessary hardware and detailed instructions (although large, color pictures and print would have

I have a roof rack, front bumper, ladder and surf racks from Aluminess and used them for appx 2 years. Generally the products are high quality and I have been happy. Recently I was on a road trip and one of the surf racks disappeared after the main connection bolt came loose. Upon original purchase and installation of the surf racks, there was no mention of needing to check the product to ensure bolts remained tight. I called Aluminess and they claimed no responsibility for what I consider to be a defective design/install. Hannah stated that the product comes with loctite. However, I provided a

Horrible fitment of front bumper, it started to chip away the paint of the brand new sprinter I was working on. Not to mention after I received the vehicle back from this shop with the parking sensors freaking out they wanted to blame me, who hasn't even been doing work remotely close to the engine compartment or bumper, for their parking sensor issues. Seems like a typical "it wasnt us" shop that doesn't make properly fitting aluminum products for the market.

Overhyped company for poor delivery times and just bad business practices. I ordered my side ladder for my chevy express on 11/27. It still has not been shipped. I called back in January and they said it will be powder coated and forsure sent on 2/12. It is now 2/12 and they said that it needs to be powder coated and the earliest they can send it is 2/17. WASTE OF TIME.

Over $12K on the front bumper, rear bumper & roof racks for Mercedes Sprinter - back left rear bumper swing arm is tweaked and we have to LIFT with 2 strong arms - I can’t do it, my husband has to do it so the back rear tire swing arm will open/close - total hassle! It should be able to support the weight of the arm itself and a tire.
My husband called Aluminess and they said the swing arms are super strong and that shouldn’t happen, BUT there’s nothing they can do about it
Really? Spent over $12K and there’s nothing they can do?
Horrible customer service response.
We’re very disappointed

Great company and great customer service. Ordered a part for a brush guard that didn’t make it to me the first time. A replacement was sent no questions asked. So not the norm these days. Replacement received. Thanks Chris!!
Btw their brush guards are robust. Unfortunately, I hit a ~150 lb deer recently and there was only a minor depression. That was the primary reason for getting the guard. Tested and passed!

Also enjoying my magnetic beer cozy.

Thank you Aluminess!

Super disappointed with my roof rack. The forward mount points to the van are too far back and the rack vibrates with bumps and freeway speeds. I will never buy Aluminess again.
FYI, the rack vibration has NOTHING to do with the sizing, It is a faulty product from the start. The contractor that ordered it did order it too small but that impacts only the back of the rack not reaching to the back of the van. It is mounted on the van correctly. The problem is that the forward mount points are too far back. I'll update with pictures soon.

This review focuses as much on the customer service I received from Aluminess, as it does their products. Overall, I have been mostly pleased with Aluminess products, with the exception of the boxes and swing arms on a bumper I purchased for my '07 Tacoma. The latches, rivets and bushings/pivots all failed in some way on those, and I ended up having to rebuild parts of the system. Aluminess did send me the parts, but I was really disappointed at how quickly they failed. All four bumpers I have purchased have been fairly good products overall in terms of function. However they are becoming

I have visited both of their locations in Idaho and Southern California and was shown both of the production lines by Kenny. Their products are made in what felt like an extremely organized and productive space. I was able to see the different stages of the bumper, ladder, tire carrier, and boxes that were going to be installed on my van. They make the finest quality van exterior armor and storage products with the most attractive, clean welds. All beautiful American made pieces my van and I are proud to wear while confident we look good doing so.

I bought my Aluminess front bumper for my 2017 Power Wagon, which has a hidden Warn winch. I will advise any who want an excellent quality bumper for their PW, Aluminess will not disappoint. It came in a crate and pallet that about half of the weight was actually the packaging. I have had Ranch Hand, Buck stop, Steelcraft, Road Armor and custom bumpers on other trucks. And, these from Aluminess are probably the best engineered and constructed. My bumper is finished to the highest degree. When installing, it will take an engine hoist and jacks to disassemble the winch mount to remove the OEM bumper

Drive down from Seattle for a ladder and nerf bars. The employees were great and dog friendly. Loved the Costco
Cookies and nice waiting room. Ended up getting the piece for the front because I love their products so much.
They were very flexible with my forever changing schedule to make it to my appointment. Lots of people were there with beautiful Sprinters from all over the country.

Don't purchase anything from these guys! Their quality is horrible and yet they charge top dollar for their products. I recently bought a roof rack from them and it was so badly warped that they had to make me a new one which also turned out warped but not quite as badly as the first one. The problem is they weld up everything on saw horses instead of using a flat table with a jig so when they weld up a rack it moves and becomes warped and out of shape. They are aware of the problem but are unapologetic about it and still expect you to pay top dollar for a defective product. Go to RB Components

I have some very high quality aluminess products now installed on my Sprinter Van including roof rack, nerf bars and just recently a light bar and front receiver hitch.

The staff has been very friendly and supportive and even scheduled an installation at their shop during a time I could come through at the end of a vacation trip.

One outstanding issue however may change my rating in this review...

My interior wheel wells were cut away for no apparent reason except maybe mistakenly preparing for the installation of a bumper instead of the light bar. In addition they did not reattach the wheel
