If I could give this bank a zero star, I would! I wanted to order some checks and they suggested to order online or by phone (the phone number on the checkbook and said 24/7). Tried both for three days, the website kept popping up errors and asked us to call a different number and we called and we either got put on hold forever or said oh we are now close and cut you off. What kind of bank is it? This bank seriously needs to invest on some technology.

Brooke Davila made the refinanceing of our auto loan the best expirence of any of the vehicles I have lease or purchased. Very professional and through, her follow up wass spot on and even when she had the day off she had her coworker step in so there would not be any delays in completing the loan agreement.

I live in the Palm Desert area, Riverside County and even though American First Credit Union (AFCU) did not have a physical presence I went online and started working through the new customer process with Melissa Leon, I was overwhelmed with her approach.
I am now a new member with American First Credit Union, I want to share my experience with Melissa who was very professional, knowledgeable, positive, helpful, made it easy, getting me set up. Always very polite and I could see her smile on every call.

Horrible customer service. Every time I call, it so happens that 90% of the time they are always under maintenance and can’t help me. I can go on, I’ll tell you one thing, they don’t help you much. Traded in a vehicle at the dealership and title has been transferred. They told me I’m still responsible for the payment coming up if they don’t pay off in time 🤷🏻♂️

I have been with AFFCU for many years back when worked for Alpha-Beta stores then when they were Landmark CU with Lucky Stores before American Stores bought Lucky Stores then back to AFFCU. Over 30 years total. First they closed there Mission Viejo branch then they closed there Irvine branch. They force you to speak to an "overflow" operator which then tells you, someone has to call you back in 24 hrs. Whaaaat!?!
Or, your choice is to drive in traffic at least an hour to a branch or wait till they call you, and of course thats pretty convenient... Don't call us, we'll call you

Do not use this credit union. I was hoping for a smaller bank to provide quicker services when needed but I should have just used a bigger bank to get better benefits. I am trying to sell my car (has a partial loan balance) and the customer rep told me that they could not process the payoff for 3-4weeks. I asked to talk to a loan officer and I may get a call tomorrow. Called another time and got different answers and still cannot be connected to an actual expert.
I will lose this sale because my bank won't give me answers and I have no way of talking to an actual knowledgable person.

I have probably only been with your credit union for maybe a month now I was having trouble login in to my account online and my mobile app I decided to call your customer service number and absolutely baffles me on how rude of an employee you have answering your phones this women answers rudely and every question I asked was an inconvenience to her she made me feel like I was stupid asking her questions 1st of all I was not even rude to her if you don't like your job why are you there??? Their online banking keeps signing me up for bill pay. I got an email today that said "congratulations for enrolling in bill pay." This happened months ago, I had to go to the branch monthly to make sure the fees were reversed because it would automatically enroll me. Now I've been on hold for 19 mins and 02 seconds as they are trying to delete bill pay, a service I never even requested. They need to update their systems. This is terrible customer service. Both my son and daughter had hundreds of dollars taken out of their account by this credit union.Most recent example; My son's account has been closed since 1/2016. yesterday he received a letter from Ascencion Hernandez, Senior Recovery Officer stating as of 3/29/16 he owes $219.00. he has no credit cards or monthly payments, he has not deposited any money in this account for a year and half.Thought we were done with this SCAM known as American First. No explanation or reason was given. JUST THREATS.
