During these uncertain times, Prospectors is now allowing Members to withdraw all of their funds from their Share Certificates before the maturity date without incurring the usual early withdrawal penalty fees (does not apply to IRA Share Certificates). Prospectors was originally chartered as Whittier Associated Telephone Federal Credit Union in 1949 and in the 50's changed its name to Whittier Gen-Telco Federal Credit Union to correspond to changes within the General Telephone companies. In 1984 the Credit Union moved its office to City of Industry, changed its name to Prospectors Federal Credit Union and opened its field of membership to include other multi-common bond employer groups.
Requires Members 10 key in their account number, last 4 digits of SS# and pass- code (members make their pass-code the first time they log-in). If they get an "invalid request" they didn't have money or they're not allowed 1ha1 transaction. Members will pick the account and account type to write a check from.
Our share draft checking has no monthly service charges when you maintain a minimum balance or have direct deposit. Otherwise, you pay a low monthly fee that's considerably less than what most banks charge. This account also gives around the clock access through our convenient VISA Debit or ATM card, "Telephone Banking" our 24-hour phone teller and our Award Winning Home & Mobile Banking Services.

A Share Certificate or (CD) is a savings investment with a fixed maturity date and specified fixed interest rate that can be issued in any denomination above the minimum deposit requirements. A CD restricts access to the funds until the maturity date of the investment.
Prospectors Share Certificates are added to all other share savings products, Checking accounts, Regular Savings accounts and Money Market accounts are added together and insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $250,000 per individual account holder.In addition Prospectors offers an additional $250,000 worth of insurance per individual through American Share Insurance (ASI).

They appear to be helpful yet make so many mistakes it almost seems like they procrastinate and "forget" to do their job. Ive had weekends ruined, out of state trips ruined, ive had autopay bills that doubled because their replacement cards werent properly activated. All in all it is a "decent" bank, however, some of their staff who are polite and sweet as ever, are incompetent and unreliable.
