Taking your child for a comprehensive eye exam at an early age, and maintaining regularly scheduled eye care checkups as they are growing up, is the best way to ensure that your child's vision development reaches its full potential and to make certain that your child acquires the visual skills needed to fully participate in all activities.
A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of your eye. For people who have cataracts due to age, injury or systemic medications, seeing through cloudy lenses is a bit like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. Generally when your quality of life is impacted by cataract formation, at any age, we can alleviate that issue.

Computer vision syndrome (CVS) is the name given to a group of eye problems and vision-related symptoms caused by prolonged use of hi-tech digital screen devices such as computers, tablets, e-readers and cellular phones. Our goal is to prevent these symptoms by prescribing the correct eye wear to increase your personal visual efficiency.

I visited the office one-time for my routine check up. Ive been lucky my vision is acute I’ve never needed anything major just glasses for reading. This is solely based on my experience the doctor was pleasant at the beginning he performed my routine eye exam and then he started on selling me bells and whistle encouraging me to get glasses for night time and special lenses for protection of sun. All things I didn’t needs It became excessive I honestly felt I was at a dealership. I honestly became uncomfortable he kept up selling me on all these products. Probably the worst medical experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. Trying to speak to Dr Rubenstien is like going into battle. I could not get through 5 seconds without him interrupting or snapping at me.
Furthermore, within five minutes of my exam Dr. R declared he would check for a brain tumor with a $39 extra fee. Taken-aback and shocked, I asked to continue my exam without this additional testing. (By the way, I have BCBS PPO1 plus a supplementary vision insurance)
When he heard this, Dr. R immediately turned nasty, raised his voice, told me he would not exam me and told me to LEAVE

I’m happy to write that all the positive reviews are actually spot on.. My very first visit was really a pleasure. Dr. Rubinstein is very kind, down to earth and funny. Trying to be fitted for knew lenses , I would imagine is daunting for anyone but Dr. Rubinstein has patience. He really loves what he does. Lindsey is a rare find. Her customer service skills are exemplary. Very pleased with Sound Shore Vision Center.

This is an exceptionally well-run practice with friendly staff. Dr. Rubinstein is always on time, incredibly thorough, explains every part of the exam and different options for contact lenses/frames, and patiently answers all questions. I've been going here for several years now and have always been impressed with the excellent care. They are so efficient from the initial appointment scheduling through the visit and contact lens ordering. Dr. Rubinstein is also easily accessible after appointments via email and responds quickly (same day, sometimes within the hour) to all questions.
