Services
We are a local, family-owned business. We opened our doors in 2007 in a single-wide modular building located at the intersection of US 17 South and NC 904. Our primary focus was on repairs because we had almost no space for storing or displaying new bicycles. Roughly one year later, we moved to the warehouse style building located next door.
We are one of the largest authorized Sun dealers in the country. We keep their most popular bikes in stock and can get anything shown on their website within a couple of days. The Drifter is one of our most popular beach cruisers. It features a pedal-forward design, which gives you proper leg extension when riding and yet allows your feet to be flat on the ground, while seated, when you stop.

Visiting from out of state for vacation, and had to have a repair done. Service was performed quickly and affordably. The fellas went above and beyond in staying after closing so I could pick my bike up. They are about 20 minutes more out of our way, but very much worth the extra drive. Highly impressed and highly recommended!

I am so elated about not only the outstanding customer service I received when I took my old girl to get a tune up and new tires, she hasn’t ever ridden this well! They were actually able to expedite the service, as I had to leave town on short notice. Cartier was very friendly, and I ended up paying less than I was quoted. I forgot to buy a tshirt to rep the shop, but I’m hoping I will be able to come for another visit soon! I highly recommend getting serviced at this shop. Cartier adjusted my brake handles to better suit my carpal tunnel before I left. Keep up the great work guys!

The owner is an amazing individual. Our family's home was lost in the February OIB tornado and we have been living in temporary housing since. Steve delivered bicycles to our family to use as "cycle therapy." He refused to charge us anything...his goal was to help us heal. His generosity was so uplifting to us as we had never met before.

After reading the reviews of the local bicycle shop I decided to travel a little further to Island Hoppers Bicycles to have my tires looked at. They met me as soon as I walked in, took my tires and had me out the door in 30 minutes. Employees were very friendly, knowledgeable and explained what they needed to do to address the problem. Very reasonably prices and I would highly recommend.

Amazing staff! I was given realistic expectations for when my repair would be done (given their busy schedule) and was happy to have my bike in the best condition it’s been in since I bought it. I definitely recommend stopping by this shop for all your repair needs- or if you need help finding the perfect bike. (And the guy who fixed my bike was super cute)
