I was patient of Dr. Montgomery. My name is Elena Tindell. He did an amazing job with surgery that he did on my shoulder. After my injury he reassured me I would be fine and my surgery was successful thanks to dr. Montgomery. I would recommend this doctor to friends and family.

This is my second encounter with this clinic, they are terrific. The First time was 2015 and I was treated well then. Today was a very hard visit for me due to my injury, but I was treated very well. Front desk staff was very kind and welcoming. The MA was kind and thorough. The doctor, Taylor Fielden was patient and answered all of my questions, informed me of my options and his concerns. The staff on exiting was helpful. Very pleased with everyone at clinic from start to finish.

I have been seeing Dr Gavin Button for many years. The staff is pleasant and efficient. Always get responses from call in inquiries. Dr Button is excellent. He listens carefully. Gives detailed and thoughtful advice. Does not hesitate to make referrals when necessary. Communications with my primary physician and other doctors.
I have full confidence in his care and advice.

I really like Dr. Mercer but his surgery scheduler and front office staff is horrible. I was five minutes early for an appointment and the front desk greeter never said hello just "you're cutting it kind of close". Shirletah the surgery scheduler, told me to show up for a procedure before the building was even open. Never got an acknowledgment or an apology. I scheduled my surgery but all I got was a voicemail with the date. I had other questions but she would not call me back to so I had to cancel my surgery. Then she called me back to tell me I couldn't be a patient

At first arriving in the office they were sweet and courteous from registration to the nurse that took me back to the room!! However when I was going to get my x-rays done and meeting for the first time with my orthopedic doctor was an awful experience!! Because I couldn’t stand the way the x-ray technician wanted me to be became abrasive and said “whatever” and even the doctor was abrasive and lied straight to my face about my knees and the arthritis that’s set in!!!
I don’t recommend them to anyone, NOT even my ENEMY!! Aside from the front and desk and nurse, look elsewhere you definitely

Left hip replacement done by Dr. Carlos Williams. He is a master of the craft. Unlike the other reviewer, my experience with Dr. Williams was very positive and I am grateful to now be walking pain-free.

On referral from my GP, I was prepared with questions for my first appt with Dr. Wiliams (cost? recovery time? scarring? medication? scheduling? risks? outcomes?). He asked me about my goals and whether I'd had major surgery before (I hadn't.)

I watched many YouTube videos of hip surgery. I went to all the recommended joint-patient education classes. When I had questions, I called

I'm live out of state and had an issue with my hip. Set an appt with Dr Williams. I showed up 10 mins early, the front desk staff were exceptional, friendly and very efficient. Waited maybe 5 mins for my initial exam. Had x-rays done onsite and was with Dr Williams moments later. Dr Williams spent a lot of time with me to fully understand my issue and address my prognosis. Dr. Williams was exceptional to work with, very friendly and detailed in his prognosis. If I lived in Portland full time I would certainly have Orthopedic Specialists as my number 1 orthopedic clinic.

Dr. Williams appeared intelligent but mostly focused on keeping the session short, providing me with little empathy or practical insight on how to treat my condition.

If you get a referral to this office find a different place to go to, unless you're trying to waste your time. They rescheduled me on multiple occasions. I changed offices after my second appointment was also rescheduled the day before. I showed up a bit late and since I was the first appointment of the day I was told to sit down so they can see if they can still see me. After a 30 MINUTE wait they finally call my name and tell me they can't see me today. However, they are more than happy to reschedule me again. Needless to say I called my doctor and got a different referral.

I was referred by my doctor and even after repeated phone calls, and jumping through hoops to get them the proper referral and xrays, never got scheduled. Obviously they don't need my business--or yours.

If you have been recommended to this office by your insurance adjuster for a workman's compensation injury, change doctors as soon as you can. This office is not looking out for your best interests, they serve the insurance companies and not their patients. They will sign off on the first document that serves to negate your situation or close your claim.
This office makes their living off old people and their injuries. They are a private office working within the context of a hospital. The whole thing is a scam and they make their living off the elderly.
If you are young and injured, they will

I have seen two different physicians at this practice for different problems. First, I saw Dr Montgomery for my arthritic shoulders. I am newish to the Portland area, but have seen a few doctors where I used to live, and DR. Montgomery impressed me the most. He didn't talk down to me but explained things to my satisfaction. I had my shoulder replaced and I am very happy with the outcome at this point, which is 13 months post-op and after P.T. I plan to have him replace my other shoulder in the near future.
The second physician I am seeing now is Dr. Button, for my elbow which I broke this summer

Had my rotator cuff fixed by Dr. Montgomery. Professional, honest, and considerate throughout the year I spent thinking about it, the surgery, and the follow up. Office staff is also great and efficient. I rarely had to wait and yet I never felt rushed by the doctor. I highly recommend them and dispute the grumpy review posted previously.

Dr. Storelli is the worst doctor I've ever met. Deceptive and lacking compassion, she will only complicate your life: Physically and Financially. If you have been recommended to her via an insurance company, she is their tool. She will sign any form they send her and not advocate for your patient rights.

Dr. Mercer was incredible! Great and empathetic. The front office on the other hand is a hot mess. It took me six weeks to get a copy of my X-rays and I still haven't gotten them. They have too many phone lines and never respond to voicemails. And you can only borrow the X-rays for 30 days. Plus, I called at 4:50 one evening to talk to someone again about getting my X-rays and they put me on hold. I was on hold for 10 minutes and then once 5 pm hit they sent me to voicemail. The office do not seem to put patients or customers first. Not worth the hassle, find another office.

I was grossed out at the thought of having shoulder replacement -- it just seemed wrong -- but my left shoulder (I'm right-handed) was increasingly painful so I finally went ahead, after putting it off for years.
Dr. Stuart Montgomery couldn't have done a better job and it couldn't have gone better. The left shoulder is fine (with help from physical therapy), I healed quickly and well, and the scar is scarcely visible.
All in all, it seems like magic. Maybe it doesn't always go this way, but I can't say enough about Dr Montgomery and the procedure.
