Shruja Patel, M.D. is a board certified primary care physician who graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a mechanical engineering degree. She then went on to earn her M.D. from the Medical University of Lublin before returning home to Texas to complete her residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Dr Patel was nice. She has very good bedside manners. The only reason I am giving 3 stars to the practice (no to Dr Patel) is because some of her staff are not as friendly as one would expect. The person who took my VS and asked me the questions from my past medical history didn’t even introduced herself when she called me to the room, not even “How are you?”. Then I was going for a physical and Pap Smear, and that same person told me they both can’t be done in the same visit because the Pap Smear it self takes 1hr. Really? I hate when people lied to me. I know there are some other reason

Extremely unorganized! I scheduled my new patient appointment a week ahead. I informed the scheduler that I did not have an actual insurance card and I provided her with all of the needed information…ID#, Group# and phone number. I received a phone call from the office today (the day before my appointment) that the office manager requires an actual card. She went on to say that my insurance has been verified and everything was good, however, I could not be seen without an actual card.
Had this information been given to me a week ago when making the appointment this review wouldn’t be necessary

I have been searching for a doctor who actually has the time and patience to listen and understand my health issues for a very long time. I have been to many who had very good reviews online and was very disappointed every single time. That changed with Dr. Patel. She actually listens, pays attention, explains in detail and is flexible enough to change the treatment plan as needed, encourages to contact her in-between appointments for medication-related issues, and refers to other specialists when required. Her approach is holistic and integrated and considers everything before she prescribes medication

Dr. Shruja Patel is the most amazing Primary Care Physician we have ever had. It takes a very special person to be an effective doctor. Dr Patel saw both my husband and me today. She has a wonderful bedside manner. She is friendly and remembers details about your life- even when a lot of time has passed between visits. She is generous with refills on maintenance medicines. She is very knowledge about all the treatment options and goes over them all with you. She gets to diagnosis quickly by asking pointed questions. You feel comfortable with her and are able to be honest without fear of judgment or criticism. She is beautiful and interesting, which is nothing compared to her intelligence, compassion, and kindness. We are both grateful

Dr. Patel and her staff are both friendly knowledgeable. Each time I come into her office I feel like family because they are so welcoming. Making appointments and getting refills on prescriptions are never a hassle, and Dr. Patel is always available to answer any questions you may have. If you don’t have a family doctor look no further.

Dr. Patel and her staff are absolutely amazing. Dr. Patel always takes the time to listen and address my concerns no matter how big or small and regardless of what my original appointment was made for. Juanita has gone above and beyond for me when I was trying to get information for my insurance. She was so patient and understanding. By far the best practice I’ve ever been to! I plan on being her patient for as long as possible.
