Thank you to all of our loyal customers through this very trying year. We are happy to say the winery building, decks and grounds are fully open at this time. We respect our customers' choices of wearing a mask or not based on their level of comfort. All of our employees have been vaccinated and looking forward to returning to serve you.

You may purchase wine at our front tasting counter. We are selling wine by the glass and the bottle in addition to wine flights of 5 selected wine samples. We ask for one person at our counter at a time for the comfort of all of our customers. Per Virginia ABC laws, alcohol not sold at North Mountain Vineyard is not permitted on the premises.
Services
North Mountain's winemaker strives to present a unique array of elegant wines exclusive to our vineyard's terroir. The charming European architecture of the winery building is the perfect setting for our continental special events, cuisine, and celebrations. North Mountain is open year-round, Wednesday - Sunday from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm, for wine tastings and purchases.
The grape vines at North Mountain Vineyards produce wine of distinction, expressing the unique characteristics of our vineyard soils, landform, and climate. These characteristics define our terroir (a French word used to describe a vineyards complete growing environment). The soils at North Mountain Vineyards are developed on a sequence of ancient carbonate rocks and sandstone, which have produced two distinct soil types within our vineyards.
Groups of 10 or more may visit during regular business hours; for service of flights, tastings, and wine by the glass, there is an additional service fee of $ 7.50 per person. Please call for reservations so we can assure you the proper attention during the visit. Enjoy our wines, get an introduction of our wines or tour of the winery.
North Mountain Winery grows vines on two distinct soil types. The hill behind our winery building that we call "Sonnenberg" has sandstone-rich soils. Sonnenberg translates to "sunny hill" in German. The lower vineyards adjacent to the winery building, and towards Swartz Road, are on clay-rich soils overlying a limestone rock formation locally known as "ribbon rock".

The winery itself is beautiful, but the wines are not great - very acidic.

The North Mountain ended up being one of my favorite places to spend some time in. The view will leave you speak less ❤️

No one around, peaceful, relaxing wine tasting on a lovely deck surrounded by the overloaded grape vines in the vineyard. Christa was delightful to meet! Looking forward to a return visit!

Very friendly people and beautiful vineyard. Went there to pickup some white wine and I regret picking just a single bottle(should have bought more :/ ) . Their white wine selection is amazing. Recommend picking up an extra bottle so that you don’t end up missing this wine like me ;)

This is a review of my first North Mountain Winery experience on 3-12-21. To begin, I have to say that as far as a setting, North Mountain's is top notch, but one of the drawbacks is that no matter how you access it, you have to go by gravel road. I feel like this might be important information for those that don't want to go off the paved path. Google Maps led me through the back roads out of Woodstock to the winery. The worst of it is actually the driveway from the road to the main building.
Next, I recognize that we've been in a pandemic and I certainly applaud those businesses that have taken

We had a wonderful time here. Andrew and Holly were super friendly and very easy to talk to. I really enjoyed their white wines. They had a nice variety and nothing was too sweet. Andrew did a really good job giving us information during our tasting about the wine, grapes, and process behind each type of wine they offered. We’ll definitely have to come back and try the reds in the late fall/winter.
