Valerie Hill Vineyard & Winery
Valerie Hill Vineyard & Winery is a family owned and operated farm winery born from our commitment to preserve the rural beauty of the Commonwealth, our desire to build a legacy for future generations of our family, and our passion for Virginia wine. Located just south of Winchester near Stephens City, Virginia, our 18 acre farm is steeped in history.

The focus is our Tasting House, a Federal style brick manor house dating back to 1807 and the namesake of our winery - Valerie Hill. Our manor house has been caringly restored and many of her rooms are open to the public to enjoy our award winning wines and lite fare, surrounded by centuries old architecture.
Services
Q. Do you allow dogs at the winery? A. We love dogs. In fact, we all have dogs of our own. Dogs are welcome outside and on a leash. Q. Are children allowed at the winery? Q. Do I need a reservation? Q. Do you allow outside food and beverages? Q. Are your logo glasses included in your tasting fee? A. Logo glasses are not included in the tasting fee but can be purchased for a nominal charge.
The history of our Manor House, Valerie Hill, spans two centuries. While her walls don't talk, the ghosts that haunt her rooms certainly do. Come hear first hand accounts of the activity of our resident ghosts - from the woman in the cellar that calls for help to the spirit of a boy perpetually locked in an attic room.

5/5 experience! General manager Josh was great.. gave us a run down of all the wines in detail. The wines were some of the best I had in this area, and appealed to my tastes (and liked some things I normally wouldn’t) meat and cheese boards were great, along with the bread. Thankful to have that one on one time with him, I recommend if you’re a first timer come on the week day because it’s less busy. Will definitely be back!

Stopped here with my fiancé on our way up north. The wine was superb, and the manager Josh exacerbated the excellent experience by being informative, welcoming, and personable. We felt at home while working through our flights of red and white wine. We highly recommend and plan on stopping through again given the chance.

We had a 50th birthday party for a friend last night, Josh was so sweet and accommodating to our large party. Josh was very attentive to our party and made us feel so comfortable! The screened in porch was perfect and of course the wine was delicious!

Great winery in Stephens City. Wine is good but not produced on site. Views are beautiful and the 200 year old house is just incredible. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Food was limited but good. Overall, a great place to spend an afternoon.

Beautiful scenery!!! Loved walking through the grape vines! Great countryside on the way to this Vinyard also. Wines are great! The staff is very very accommodating and works hard to meet the needs of customers. Really nice clientele. Personally, I could leave out the live music, I would rather hear the birds and the occasional cow (there is a neighboring farm with beautiful cattle!).
The historic house has several interesting original rooms— great antiques downstairs— the 80s furnishings upstairs don’t work, but they are comfortable.
There are designated areas that are 21 years of age

Love going and having a nice wine experience. Very relaxing and enjoy lunch if you wish or the delicious cheese ball and cracker appetizer! I have many times purchased the cheese ball to take home and enjoy when we have company.
The house is beautiful and one can sit anywhere and enjoy the atmosphere while also enjoying your favorite bottle or glass of wine.
Another perk is you can bring your own snacks if you choose. Many wineries will not allow this!
Always s great experience with family and friends. Love Valerie Hill.

Valerie Hill is a fantastic winery located in a historic home built in 1807 and surrounding farm area. Great wines and food including "Adult grill cheese and tomato soup", which was delicious! Winery manager and local wine expert Josh was super helpful showcasing testings and available wines and also adding to the positive vibe that goes with this place. Great live music from local musicians on Friday evening and Saturday and Sunday afternoons and plenty of great places in the house to enjoy wines including a upstairs and downstairs living room and two bar areas on the first floor. Outside seating
