Sullivan Psychiatric Group
When a child shows signs of emotional or behavioral disturbance, it is normal to be worried or feel overwhelmed. At Sullivan Psychiatric Group, we are here to help. We offer holistic treatment for children and adolescents, so that improvements can be seen in all aspects of their lives - in the classroom, in social settings, and in the home.

The first step in treating children and adolescents with psychiatric conditions should be a thorough evaluation by a qualified mental health professional. Our evaluation process typically occurs over a few 30-60 minute meetings with you and your child. Input from your child's teachers, doctors or other mental health professionals can help us see the bigger picture and form a more accurate diagnosis.

We can treat your child for a wide range of conditions and make referrals to specialists, if needed. Our areas of expertise include:. Separation anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorders all fall under the anxiety umbrella.

This disorder is characterized by persistent problems with focus, attention, hyperactivity, distractibility, and impulse control that interfere with a child's development or ability to function.ADHD begins in childhood, usually before age 12. While most children exhibit some of these symptoms from time to time, a child with ADHD struggles more frequently and more severely than other children.
Most frequently asked questions concerning diagnosis, treatment, insurance, payments, and more:. Sometimes children experience intense and overwhelming emotions, and the struggle with these feelings can lead to problematic behaviors. These behaviors can vary in frequency and intensity and include disruptive and out of control behaviors, problems with relationships, anger, frustration, feeling overwhelmed, worried, sad, or possibly suicidal.

Don't waste your time here. Unprofessional, always late with appointments and refills, no sense of ethics.

I brought my son to this office about 8 years, and I am so happy we did not go elsewhere! We still come to this office for treatment. If you are seeking acceptional care for your child, this is the place for you. Dr. Sullivan is awesome! I would recommend him to anyone.

I have to say not all is bad about this place. But they want to hold their patients to a higher standard of being to appointments and on time then they hold the Doctor and Nurses. You can be in the waiting room sometimes up to 45 mins to an hour waiting. We have had many occasions of waiting long waits for our psychiatric nurse , we will be there 10 mins early for our appointment and she be half hour to 45 min LATE. So again good place helpful but is not great about your time!

I hadn’t gone to Sullivan Psychiatric in a couple of months because of some family issues and I tried asking if I could make an appointment because I need help. They proceeded to tell me no and hung up. How about saying “I’m sorry but we can’t but i’ll be more than happy to recommend some other psychiatrists!” Of course not though. Thanks a lot.

I had been seeing Dr. Sullivan for I believe 2 years, and he’s not very good at all. I wouldn’t say he’s the worst psychiatrist I’ve been too, but I’d say he’s pretty darn close to it. Let’s put it this way he doesn’t know what he’s doing. He diagnosed me with bi polar, but wasn’t treating me for it if that makes any sense. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone.

Very unhappy with our experience I have a 3 and 5 year old who have been put on medication through them and now have to wait 3 months between appointments because they have no availability. So sad they do not have enough staff to care for their patients properly

Doctors put kids on NARCOTICS and allow them to go thru withdraws with little to no concern for your childs health.
Unable to make appointment due to meltdown rescheduled with apologies
Doctor cancelled next appointment without a 2ed thought about my child being out of meds. Requested script to cover child until next appointment Was told doctor had to see him 1st so child goes without meds (narcotic meds that cause withdraws)
My child has been experiencing withdraws
No sleep for 24 hrs or better
Bring him to doctor and they refuse treatment due to copay because of forgotten card.

Working with this provider has proved to be one of the most difficult experiences of my adult life. If you want your child to be cared for, IE - Anything that remotely would pass for Customer Service or Patient Care then I suggest you find another Provide.. Please spare yourself the headache and frustration that comes along with dealing with this group.
