Integrative Psychiatry was established in 2001 as a private outpatient practice, dedicated to providing a holistic and integrated treatment program for each individual. It has been a leader in providing cutting-edge psychiatric therapies such as advanced psychopharmacology, pharmacogenetic testing, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.

Since 2010, Integrative Psychiatry has been the region's premier center for patient care, research, and training in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Hundreds of our patients have achieved remission from their treatment-resistant depression with TMS. Transcranial magnetic stimulation is a non-invasive, FDA cleared treatment for depressed patients who have not received adequate benefit from antidepressants.

Depression is a serious medical illness affecting more than 16 million American adults every year, 6.7% of all U.S. adults1. Often a debilitating disorder, depression results in a persistent state of sadness or loss of interest or pleasure which interferes with an individual's thoughts, behavior, mood, and physical health.
It is a condition which lasts two or more weeks and interferes with a person's ability to carry out daily tasks and enjoyed activities that previously brought pleasure. The exact cause of depression is not known, but the leading scientific theory is that depression is caused by decreased activity in the neural networks of the brain that regulate mood and motivation.
Depression results in a persistent state of sadness or a loss of the ability to experience pleasure. Those experiencing depression often lose interest in everyday activities or hobbies that were once enjoyed. Significant weight loss (without dieting) or gain of at least five percent of total weight in one month.
NeuroStar TMS Therapy is a new treatment cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for patients suffering from depression who have not achieved satisfactory improvement from prior antidepressant treatment. TMS stands for "transcranial magnetic stimulation." TMS Therapy is a treatment that can be performed in a psychiatrist's office, under his or her supervision, using a medical device called the NeuroStar TMS Therapy system.
An initial consultation will be scheduled to discuss what is troubling you and whether TMS is an appropriate treatment. At that time, you and your doctor will review your symptoms, treatment history, and possible treatment options. If TMS is the right treatment for you, treatment sessions can be scheduled to begin immediately.
