Wineaux's Restaurant
Situated in the rolling hills of beautiful Southern Illinois, Cache River Basin Vineyard & Winery provides for its patrons a selection of outstanding Southern Illinois fine wines, produced on-site, a fine dining experience in Wineaux's Restaurant, and clean, comfortable cabins (Boondocks Cabins) for that weekend get-away.

The Winery, Wineaux's, Boondocks Cabin, both vineyards (97 acres in Belknap and 3-4 acres at Hillerman) - SO much to enjoy here! Jack will stay one year to advise and direct the new owners regarding how to make wine, operate the restaurant, and take care of the vineyard, etc. at no charge. A young Paducah couple, Chasity Albright and Joshua Poe, flew in via a SAS helicopter for dinner.
Services
Our first dessert wine served small & large. A pleasant subtle pale red wine with a sweet, fruity taste that seems to linger on your palate. This amazing full-bodied pleasant-tasting wine with a soft finish is composed of Norton and Chambourcin slightly sweetened. Just coming into its own. A combination of Chardonnel and Hawk Tail Red produces a wine with an excellent lingering after taste.
The Boondocks Cabin is attractively finished, tucked up in the woods, and pet friendly. The cabin has two bedrooms, each complete with a Sealy Posturepedic queen size bed with Eurotop for your sleeping comfort, a very nice bathroom, and a completely furnished kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with tea bags, sweeteners, and both regular and de-cafe coffee.
Wineaux's is a restaurant where customers can sit and enjoy great food, great wine, great service, and a great view of the amazing countryside. Jack, along with the entire staff of Wineaux's Restaurant, would like to invite you to enjoy the very best in dining experiences. Join us Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday.

First, the present owner, Jack is a great guy! Loved just taking the time to talk with him and hear his stories. And the wine! Oh my, just lovely. We had the place to ourselves - the sounds of quiet were so relaxing, and the views were beautiful. Hopefully we will be back for another visit with Jack and several more bottles of wine!

Jack is a real nice host for our stay as a Harvest Host member. He is hard of hearing so speak up. The restaurant serves up really large, good tasting portions.

We had a really nice time at the winery and restaurant. Jack, the owner, is a lot of fun to talk with and the wines are great (we really liked Code Red and Cynthiana Norton)! The food at Wineaux Restaurant, on property, was also great and the landscaping out back is really well maintained. We recognized and appreciated the thought that went into making each of the features easily accessible (e.g., a number of ramps leading to lower decks and the gazebo). We stayed as part of the Harvest Host program and had plenty of room in the gravel lot for our 33 ft. motorhome. We will certainly be back next

A good stop if you’re in the area! The owner, Jack, is a funny and knowledgeable old man who would love to tell you the history of the grape varietals he grows, how he chose the names for the bottles you’ll sampling, and all about his vineyard. His cat, Whine-O is such a cutie too! We sampled 4 or 5 wines and liked about half of them, and bought a bottle. Explore the grounds, if you have time!

After a long day of hiking stopped in for a few tastings. “Grandpa Jack” didn’t disappoint, wine was EXCELLENT and property is gorgeous. Left with a few bottles and an inspirational quote Jack gave us!

After a long day Scouting the trails at Jackson Falls we were looking forward to recharging our batteries and silencing the growling hunger noises additionally experiencing the winery. Walking our tired bones up to the door, we were greeted by a sign explaining that the restaurant had experienced a good fire and was closed until the issue could be rectified. Well we slid over to the winery in hopes of there being some substance to consume. It was nice to experience the wines that were offered but we really need to get some food. Back on the road to resolve the hunger.

Nice little spot to hide away, get away from the noise of the busy places. Dinner was good. Nice place.

Good food, lovely scenery. Have your meal while overlooking the vineyard and a wine bottle shaped pond. My husband and I had the Chicken Dijon and our son had the pork chops with a sweet glaze and we were all very pleased. Would love to go back and try some of their desserts. It is a little out of the way but was easy to find with our GPS. Thanks to our friend from the area who recommended we eat there.

I love this place. Jack the owner is awesome. Wine and food wonderful. The swamp wine cake is so good one hates to see the bottom of the dish. My niece was eating her cake and said would be angry when it was all gone.
