Mark found running when he was 30 years old, but he instantly fell in love the sport because of its emphasis on focus and dedication. After serving roles as the Greater Lowell Road Runner club president, race team manager, and race director, Mark decided to start Marx Running & Fitness Center. Mark initially started the business in 2000 as a way to support athletes and give back to the running community.
Since then it has transformed into much more than that. Mark has used his knowledge, experience, and passion for running to grow his business alongside with the local community. Mark has forged relationships with local road races, schools, gyms, doctors, physical therapists, and personal trainers, all of whom use Mark as a trusted resource when it comes to all things running/walking.

Services
We know all running specialty stores do their own version of Gait Analysis by watching you walk/run or maybe even have you stand stationary on some sort of device. Our process involves you getting on the treadmill and taking a 5 second video clip in a neutral soft shoe as a baseline and then taking additional clips in different shoes to better understand the differences.

Super friendly and helpful staff got me set up with arch support shoes so I can kick my plantar fasciitis and get back to running. He first evaluated my walking gait and used that information to find shoes that will help stabilize my pronating foot. I wanted to get 2 pairs so both were 15% since I was buying both. So, so much better than buying online.

Mark Coddaire is the real deal!! He really knows his products and can select the footwear right for YOU. I came here after my sneakers got soaked in yesterday's torrential rains. We are new to town and my fiancé needed a new pair of running shoes so we decided to give Marx running a try. We scheduled an appointment for a gait analysis and the process was very interesting! The young woman who helped us was extremely knowledgeable in showing us what she was looking for in the gait analysis shown on the computer and explained why she recommended certain shoes over others. Her passion and knowledge gave us total confidence that we were purchasing the right pair. An overall great experience here--we will be back!

Recently purchased running shoes online that were causing me lots of pain. Went in to Marx running and was blown away by the service that was provided. I tried on multiple pairs of shoes and was recorded on the treadmill to show how my foot/ankle reacts with different levels of support. The shoe SCIENTIST found my perfect shoe that fits my stride and provides me the highest level of support and comfort. We brought our kids in for back-to-school shoes since I noticed my son had pretty serious pronation. I was so unbelievably impressed with the personalized service. The kids shoes were not quite right so we transitioned to the women's sizes and he was careful not to let on to my 10yo son that they were "girl shoes" and even picked colors what were as close to neutral as possible. This will definately be our go-to store for all our sneaker needs in the future.
