If you have dental insurance we will help you determine the coverage you have available. In order to best assist you, it is important that you submit your dental and/or medical insurance information to us with your New Patient Paperwork a minimum of two business days prior to your scheduled appointment.
We strive to schedule an appropriate time for each patient family that visits Eugene Mumford, DDS, taking into account the individual needs of each child. While we understand that emergencies happen, and it's difficult to plan for the unexpected, it's important that we respect the time of our staff, as well as those patients who may be waiting for an appointment with us.
Your child's first dental visit will consist of a thorough review of your child's dental and health information and a comprehensive dental examination along with a discussion on proper diet, nutrition and good oral hygiene habits. Depending on the age and needs of your child, we will complete a professional dental cleaning, conduct re-mineralization therapy, and take any necessary x-rays.
It's important to teach your child good oral hygiene habits early, because cavities can start even before babies have visible teeth! Babies have 20 primary teeth that are already present in the jaws when they're born. Primary teeth start coming in around 6 months of age, and create a healthy foundation for adult teeth by maintaining space in the jaw.
Professional cleanings performed by a licensed dentist or hygienist are just as important to your dental health as daily brushing and flossing. Some patients will require a deep cleaning due to gum disease and past periodontal treatments. Dr. Eugene Mumford will review your past dental history and identify any issues you may need treatment for.

Dr. Mumford is the man!!!
I’d rate my experience higher then a five star If I could, I have been going to Eugene Mumford for over twenty years as well as my whole family.
Absolutely nothing but the best here, and the most professional and pleasant office and staff I’ve ever dealt with in my entire life.
I am by far the worst procrastinator I know, haven’t been in to see the doc in 6 years and I broke a tooth Friday that he did some work on 17 years ago.
I Called Charlene and told her what happened and less the 24 hrs later I was in to see the dr. To get his opinion on what to do and get

Dr. Mumford is a great dentist as well as his dental assistants/hygienist. No complaints. His front desk staff staff however is another story. Front desk receptionist is not the sharpest tool in the shed. My husband and I constantly had to call our insurance company to verify the information that she would provide to us regarding our bill. However, being that Dr. Mumford was a great dentist we were willing to put up with that. Our turning point was when the state shut down due to co-vid 19 we did not receive any bills from them. I assumed this was because their office was closed and I would catch

Dr Mumford is a wonderful dentist! I come from a lifetime of bad dental experiences and feel so blessed to have found him. I have absolutely no fear of dental work when he and his amazing staff care for me. His hygienists are personable and caring. The office manager, Charlene, is delightful and puts everyone coming through door at ease immediately. The combination of humor, empathy, and an extremely competent team of professionals make this a perfect choice for family dental care.
