At Center of Gravity our intention is to create a home for practitioners of yoga and the related movement arts in a convenient downtown Lexington location. Center of Gravity is the result of our desire to provide a vibrant setting in which to learn, discover, explore, change and renew. Our offerings include the holistic practice of Yoga, the empowering strength of Pilates, and the healing energy of Qigong and Tai Chi.
We encourage payment by Cash and Checks when possible, though we do also accept Credit Cards. You can also book and pay for classes or passes through the Mindbody mobile app. Yoga packages are non-refundable and have expiration dates; expired classes can be re-activated by paying the difference for a drop-in rate.
As you enter the studio you will climb a wide set of stairs. At the top you will find an area for removing shoes, and cubbies for storing your personal items. Then head on over to the greeting desk to check-in. There will be someone here to help you, answer questions, and tell you where to set up your mat.
As a Physical Education teacher for 18 years, I discovered yoga through group fitness. At that time, to enhance my job as a coach and teacher at Hollins University I became an aerobics instructor, certified through the American Council on Exercise. I began coaching and teaching at Washington & Lee University as the Head field Hockey coach and the assistant Women's Lacrosse coach in 2001.

I really love this business and all the people that make it happen. Unfortunately, taking care of my mom in Florida and working has kept me away from the amazing classes. Well, that and my own inertia! I’m hoping to carve out time again soon to take more classes!

The instructors at Center of Gravity Yoga are great. They make yoga fun and enjoyable. The personal connection is really important...I've tried online yoga classes on youtube, but it's the personal connection with the staff at Center of Gravity that keeps me coming back. Every instructor has their own style--that makes it fun to try out different classes. I also appreciate the online options; it makes it easier to fit yoga into my schedule.

Instructor was friendly, welcoming, and taught her class to different levels. She had a good selection of music and the poses followed a good sequence! She was positive and made the effort to know my name. I was happy to be there; visiting from California.

I love everything about this studio! The space is cozy and has an amazing yoga vibe. My favorite class is the Sunday afternoon slow flow, but have also loved the other classes when I have time to mix it up. Teachers are professional and well trained and also warm and friendly. I feel so lucky we have this studio in little Lexington.

It’s always a pleasure to attend classes at COG Yoga. Over the years my husband and I have attended a variety of classes and we are always impressed with the professionalism and the care each instructor shows for each student. No matter the level of the different attendees the instructors do a great job of adapting the various moves to each ability level. We look forward to the new year and continuing to explore and expand our yoga practice.
