Kim is a good lawyer and she has helped me with immigration issues in the past. Unfortunately more recently it has been difficult to progress issues. She appears to be understaffed for the caseload she is carrying. It is difficult to have communication with her, emails are unanswered and she does not deliver on promised dates to set up document portals and send instructions as she promises. I would not completely rule out using her as she knows what she is doing , but be prepare to be patient and frustrated by the process due to the lack of communication.

DO NOT HIRE KIM SCHAEFER as your attorney, if you're looking for an attorney that understands the value of communicating with the client. I have used Schaefer Law on 1 other occasion, and had the pleasure of working with Monee Lee (retired). The vast difference in working with both attorneys became immediatley apparent.
Kim is quick to take your money, but will ignore your texts/calls/voicemails/emails.

I believe this immigration law-firm is overrated. My brother's wife has a parent-petition that has not been filed since August 2020 (YES, 1-year since they hired this law-firm and nothing has been done yet) and I have an asylum case that not much has been done since February 2021. I think they exaggerate their level of caring and understanding about an immigrant's pain and the ability to empathize with them. As you know, refugees and asylum seekers are very vulnerable with little to no resources at all, especially someone whose lives depend on a favorable decision by USCIS

We applied during the pandemic so it took a whole year, but Kim still help us got our green card. There was a slight issue with her staff, they made a few mistakes in our paper work, but that is why you need to double check your paper work. Other than that I still recommend their service!

I’m very pleased with Schaefer Law firm. Kim and her team did an outstanding job representing me for my permanent green card application. Repeat customer!! Kimberly and the Schaefer law team helped my wife get her first green card and everything went really smooth. Kimberly even came to the final interview portion of the process. They were always available to answer questions and help ease our concerns. Schaefer Law Firm did an exceptional job! When I applied for my green card, Scott Peterson worked as my attorney. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and advised me regarding the filing of paperwork and next steps. Any time that I called with questions regarding the process, he either answered or promptly returned my calls. The same promptness followed for any emailed correspondence.
