FIRST- Google Maps talk you to the wrong entrance so be careful with that because the road it sends you is not paved and can damage a car.
Poor experience. The motel was not full and yet place us, traveling family, next door to and below construction workers who smoked and woke up early. The floors creaked at 6 am for an hour. Woke the family up. I did not expect anything more that the cozy motel from other reviews but it was disappointing. No one was in the office when we got there, I had to pick up a phone on the outside wall and ring the owner/manager (?). She came down and seemed confused

I had purchased the room through hotels.com as I was coming up for a funeral. I ended up having another relative pass away and I needed to cancel my reservation. Yes I understand it was nonrefundable and hotels.com said to contact the hotel directly which I did. The person I called refused and did not believe me because I had called a couple days prior because of bad weather and was checking on the situation. Have a little sympathy. My point is more him responding that he did not believe me and just not giving me a direct response that says no we cannot do that and I'm sorry for your loss

Initially our check-in was very pleasant, the owner was very nice and allowed us an early check-in, the mood did change as the evening approached... we had gone out to dinner at Agee's BBQ, upon our return the owner was yelling at us that our vehicle was leaking oil and commanding us to park our vehicle across the street. We had informed him that our vehicle was not leaking oil and the owner threatened that he would charge us for having to clean his driveway and was very rude. After sometime arguing with him, he allowed us to park in a space near the road. After parking there we quickly realized

Having enjoyed Sedona, and the Grand Canyon with whirlwind large throngs
of fellow tourists, it was a wonderful relief to spend our final vacation days at The Motel in The Pines. The owner was willing to assist us in any way to guarantee our stay was comfortable. The facilities were clean and much more relaxing than the more expensive franchises in the larger towns.
I highly recommend the Motel In The Pines for a peaceful, secure respite
when traveling in Arizona.

Good value for last minute trip: Planned a one night gettaway from Phoenix. It happened to be a busy weekend in Sedona and I stumbled upon this motel. After reading some reviews I felt comfortable making the investment for a night. What I found was a caring staff/family operating this establishment. The location is great, about 40 minutes from Sedona/flagstaff if you needed a place to crash out. The drive is gorgeous.
In my room was a kitchenette and coffee machine. Was happy I could make myself a nice dinner while enjoying the outdoors.Would definitely be back for winter time to be surrounded

We were going to look for a house in the Flagstaff and Sedona area. This motel is close to both without the outrageous prices of Sedona or Flagstaff. The is a CLEAN motel. If you need a place to sleep this is great. Great mattresses, great pillows and lots of them. Yes, there are pine trees. Lots of them. This is not a resort, but a great family run motel. Friendly people run it. This place is 20 minutes from Flagstaff, and about 45 minutes from Sedona. Both drives are beautiful. There are NOT a lot of food stores or places to eat near. So, bring your own food, there is a small refrigerator and

Bed bugs! We stayed at this hotel in late June 2017 and thought it was a decent place. About 2 months later we were dealing with a bed bug infestation. The exterminator asked about hotels and this is the only hotel we had stayed at over the summer. Do not book a room here unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars dealing with bed bugs in a few months.

Bed bug warning!!! I stayed here for one night and I thought everything was fine until later that night my legs and arms started itching badly. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was going on. I started frantically searching my own bed for bed bugs. Then I remembered I had stayed there and I log on only to find that there are several more people complaining about beg bugs there. This is enough to warrant a one star review. That doesn't even include the rudeness of the staff on the telephone and in person. Spend a little extra for a better hotel. You'll be happy you avoided

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! BED BUG WARNING!!! We stayed two nights only because we took a spontaneous trip to sedona and this was all that was available. WHAT A MISTAKE! I woke up covered in bug bites. I had never had bed bugs before so I was thinking I might of had some kind of allergic reaction to something. After we returned back to California I went to the doctors and they confirmed it was BED BUGS! So I called the hotel and asked for a refund just to get treated with utter disrespect. He refused to give me a refund and insisted I got the bed bugs from a different hotel we never stayed at because

It's not often that you make a reservation for a $38 a night hotel and arrive surprised in a good way. You expect a clean room, bed to sleep in and a bathroom. The room here had a king size COMFORTABLE bed, patio with gorgeous view, in room fireplace with chopped wood, microwave, mini fridge and heated bathroom floor. Surprised in a good way in deed!!!

Yikes!!! Was not expecting it to be as bad as it was!
So dirty and run down, we left soon after we checked in (with no refund). The smell of the room gave me a headache, cigarette burns on the comforter (non-smoking room with $250 fine - so why didn't they purchase a new one?), hazardous/overused electrical outlet, dirty kitchenette without a single pot/pan/plate/utensils (I've never booked a kitchenette room that didn't come with at least something to cook/eat with), the bed was completely distorted... I mean, the list goes on! Only 15min away are CLEAN hotels, pay the extra $20

Like some others have said, this is to rate what was a $60 room (booked online) that would've been $90. My partner and I were trying to save some money by staying outside of Sedona, which is more in the $150/night range. I had no expectations or desire for breakfast or room service or any "extras."
Our room was pretty lousy, I have to say. I liked the manager guy a lot. Very folksy and friendly. But the room looked like 1981. The only thing newer appeared to be the bed blankets. Which doesn't bug me too much; although it was kind of scary at night. There were tools still in
