With such a small bar area the 6 foot social distancing requirement had made opening the inside impractical. That restriction is now gone. From the beginning of the virus we followed the requirements and suggestions of our health officials. We made every decision based on health and safety and not sales.
As this health crisis begins to wind down we will continue to follow those requirements and suggestions. Per current state law vaccinated patrons will NOT be required to wear masks inside, we will be using the honor system and hope all of our guests will show one another respect regarding this subject.

Services
No, we are not all related. But we are all part of the Chateau MerrillAnne family. Friends, relatives, volunteers who all have made a huge, positive impact on Chateau MerrillAnne Winery and Vineyards. Whether it is planting, harvesting, building or events we can always count on the CMA family to get it done.
This crispness of this beautiful Vidal wine has a characteristic citrus element in the aroma and taste, as well as a light minerality. It produces an aromatic wine that is moderately dry and attractively fruity, reminiscent of a Sauvignon Blanc. A lovely, refreshing light white. Our 2020 Viognier has beautiful aromas of honeysuckle and peach followed by a full-flavored mouthfeel accompanied by fresh, bright acidity.
These sociable events are perfect for trying new food and meeting new friends. We supply the main course and ask each attendee to bring a dish and purchase 1 bottle of Chateau MerrillAnne wine. That's it! Then just come and enjoy. Pre registration is required. Contact winery for dates and details. Seating is limited.
While our small size limits us to these states we will continue to work to expand our shipping territories. By ordering in increments of three bottles we can keep our packaging and shipping costs as low as possible. To ensure your wine arrives safely and in perfect condition we use premium packing materials.

This place is AMAZING! Kenny is the absolute sweetest!
Due to COVID-19, they had a really nice set up with social distancing and no indoor seating.
The wine tasting is so cool! I tired to convince Kenny to sell it online and market for it. There's 6 little numbered, one ounce glass bottles and you get a free wine glass with it. There's a paper with a description of each of the wines which were all delicious.
We ask so ordered some cheese and some meats. There was a major array of all cheeses. We ordered the smoked cheddar and the pepper jack which had a bit of a bite. It definitely

Down a country road and then a nice long driveway through some pasture, this was exactly the getaway we were looking for. Had very safe distance between outdoor tables with shaded umbrellas alongside norton vines. Delicious tastings and great prices, too. They also sell cheese, crackers and meat. Great spot.

We followed the long and winding drive way to the tasting room and vineyard. They recently covered a deck for more space in the tasting room, and they are working to add a new deck that will face the vineyard and not the parking area. The wines are very good. The Vin Gris made from Chambourcin as a blush by pressing the grapes hard was worth the trip all by itself. We also tasted 2 whites and three reds; two were Cab Sauv, and one was a Merlot Chambourcin blend. Well balanced use of oak. They may have a valid claim to the most photographed tasting room door!

What a great little winery. Well made wines. Great price point and relaxed atmosphere.
Kenny, the owner, is knowledgeable and makes you feel right at home.
A little off the beaten path but well worth the drive.
Now if I could just get them to replace the black cat on their bottles with a nice Labrador retriever we'd have a 5 star operation.
Visit them. You won't regret it.

I am a member of the same wine club as Nancy L (see review) and echo her sentiments. Not only is the wine amazing but the hospitality and service we received was top notch. The place is adorable, the location beautiful. HIghly recommend the Palace White and Governor Spotswood red. if you are lucky enough to try the cabernet sauvignon (sorry our wine club tasted the very last bottle) you WILL enjoy it and buy as many bottles as you can afford. it revivals california Cab Savs.

We had a wonderful experience here! We came here with our wine club (23 women)....The owner was so friendly and fun, we had called several weeks in advance and and asked to have our lunch here that we were providing. She had tables setup so beautifully for us, what a nice surprise that was! They even took the time to pour our tastings at each table. The wines were wonderful and you gave us so much more than we expected. Thank you all so much....You are truly are a 5 star rating on your customer service and wine!

I love this place for a couple of reasons. I find the wine very good and it is the old family home of my Great Grandfather. Kenny always makes me feel welcome and the stories shared about the farm are amazing. This is how a local business is successful. The greatest reviews are word of mouth and this winery is a must visit!

My friends and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy some wine at this quaint vineyard. We were very impressed! The owners are just wonderful, adding fun stories and friendly conversation to our tasting. My friends and I have varying palettes too and were surprised to find that we all enjoyed every last wine we tasted. That's a rarity for this group! We also brought some charcuterie, and were able to enjoy it with our bottles of wine on their lovely outdoor patio. Chateau Merillanne now ranks amongst my favorite wineries in Virginia, and I really look forward to returning!

Played hookie from work on a Friday in May and visited in the late afternoon. For a small place, Chateau Merrillanne packs a punch. The favorites were the Grimalkin Rose and 2012 Palace Red (Chambourcin & Merlot, which I picked up a bottle of).
The Grimalkin was one of the darkest looking Roses I've ever seen; it was hard not to admire my glass. While I'm not usually a Rose drinker, I'd make an exception for this again. The other wines were pretty good as well.
What I also liked was the price. All but one of the wines were under $20. I mean; seriously? The most expensive was

We arrived earlier in the week and they were closed...fortunately we returned, and it was great. Very quaint setting, nicely done though, with great contrasts. The service was delightful, and the wine was really good. We will definitely return. Oh...almost forgot, the wine slushy is such fun! Don't be a snob, yes I said wine slushy!

Winery is nestled back in Orange, VA. As far as wineries in the area go, it is one of the newer ones but it is already doing a great job. The wines are good, and the wine slushy is a real treat.
The outdoor area is really cute and perfect to take a picnic and enjoy a glass. The owners are welcoming and warm, and the winery is making a great start. I look forward to seeing the winery grow and returning again.
