For more than 25 years, Charles Lebowitz, MD, FACP has been a practicing Primary Care and Internal Medicine physician in the Tampa, FL area. Dr. Lebowitz is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
He has held numerous hospital positions including Chief of Staff and Director of Intensive Care Units, at central Florida hospitals. He is on staff at Advent Hospital in Tampa, Florida. We provide a wide array of medical services. Our goal is to offer the best possible medical care in an office setting. We do everything from preventive care, complete physicals to treating severe and complicated medical illnesses. Dr. Lebowitz has over 25 years of experience in the treatment of diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and much more.
Supervised by Dr. Charles Lebowitz, the Lebowitz Medical Group, PA Weight Loss program is medically-based and begins with a physical exam, an Electrocardiogram (EKG) and laboratory studies. We also measure your Body Fat Index (BFI), Body Mass Index (BMI) and Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). Each patient is then provided with an individualized diet and exercise program.

I have been a patient of Dr. Charles Lebowitz for many years. He is an excellent and compassionate Physician. His office is spotless, and he is always on time. He is polite courteous and responds to my e-mails and phone calls. The office is high-tech, very efficient and paperless.
His office manager is Debbie, and she is wonderful and very helpful. She will explain the office procedures in detail and will provide all of the insurance information as needed.
I highly recommend this office to anyone that requires primary care, weight management and even minor medical procedures.

Best experience I could ask for a Doctor. He is somebody who TRULY cares, and you can see that in his bedside manor but also how he has gone out of his way to check on you after a visit. His staff is bar none, as his ruse quickly puts you at ease, even for a worrisome checkup. Can’t recommend him enough!!

Hours are very unreasonable, they often leave before their stated closing time and will not return calls after 1:00 pm. The receptionist/ nurse practitioner is also incredibly unprofessional and clearly has no respect for her patients; I went to the office at 8:00 one morning because no one returned my phone calls & I needed a prescription refilled. She didn't get off her cell phone the whole time I was trying to talk to her, and when I went to sit down to wait for Dr. Lebowitz to show up she said something nasty about me under her breath, which I heard and immediately left after. The receptionist does not have any respect for the individual. She did not make us feel welcomed and when we were done filling out the paperwork and I handed it to her she snatched it back and says it would be a few minutes.
For someone going into the medical field I know where I would like to work. When you go into this field no matter what you go for, you take an oath to do right by the patient no matter what.
From the reviews I have read I am not the only one who feels this way. The fact that the doctor lets this happen just shows that he doesn’t mind treating patients with disrespect.

We had been patients of Dr. Lebowitz for a few years. We have always been able to get an appt when needed for our schedule. We travel a lot for work and call sometimes the same day to get in. The practice is only Dr L, you are not going to seeing another Dr that does not know you. He is has one girl on Staff and Debbie knows us so well and treats us like a friend. I could go on and on and , but I think you get the idea. Small practice with knowledgable Dr L. with a big Heart!

If I could give no stars, I would. I recommend finding another doctor's office, that values their patients and any concerns that patient may have. Good luck finding an appointment that works with your schedule (their door says they are open 9-5 Monday through Friday but that is only their answering service, they are maybe there for 4-5 hours every couple of days).
I went to see Lebowitz for a consult on my change in temperament and excessive weight gain. Blood work was recommend, so I can check my internal values, in particularly my testosterone. Two weeks after my initial appointment with Lebowitz
