We are dedicated to providing exceptional dentistry for your health, beauty and well being. We are a single dentist practice with a highly trained and experienced support staff who are devoted to giving our patients the best care possible.
Dr. Russell W. McCalley received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Arizona. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Southern California. Dr. McCalley opened his dental practice in San Diego in 1988. Dr. McCalley incorporates the most advanced technologies into his practice.
Dr. Jessica Vergel de Dios grew up in Los Angeles and attended the University of San Diego where she received a B.A. in Biology. She went on to receive a M.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Regis University in Denver and her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Western University College of Dental Medicine.
We always welcome new patients and are dedicated to providing the best dental care possible. Our office is professionally designed to incorporate a comforting and relaxing environment with our advanced technical equipment. We strive to stay on the cutting edge of dental care and the office is a reflection of that.
CEREC 3-D is a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) that allows Dr. McCalley to quickly restore damaged teeth with tooth-colored ceramic fillings or crowns in only one appointment. We no longer need to make a temporary restoration for lab processing. Because of this technology, the traditional second visit is eliminated, saving our patients time and inconvenience.

I hate to admit that it's been a realllly long time since I went to a dentist, but this office is worth every penny spent! I feel so welcomed by all of the staff, the office is clean and comforting to be in! The ladies at the front desk are so sweet, the doctors are amazing and very kind with their chair side manner ;) the dental hygienists are just as amazing and I've even spaced out my appointments so I can keep coming back! They have made dental visits, cleanings and drilling my teeth enjoyable! How does that happen?! I don't know but they do!! If you're looking for an office

I am in the process of receiving implants on my anteriors, have had the extractions and bone replacement grafts (which took only 1 & 1/2 hours,) totally painless , Dr McCalley is a genius at giving upper anterior anesthesia, again painless, am now waiting for the implant placements which will happen in January as we have to wait for healing, so looking forward to it. I have received a partial denture to replace my anteriors during the healing time, and none of my family or friends have noticed a change in my smile. And what I really liked is Dr McCalley does it ALL, I didn’t have to go to another

Great service from everyone on the office. Great work from Dr. McCalley. I’ve been in and out of the office pretty quickly for a root canal, crown, and filling over the past few months. The office is comfortable. The staff is really welcoming and nice. It’s a very challenging time to make people feel welcomed and comfortable right now, and they just do a great job. Dr. McCalley is really good at what he does.

I have been a patient of Dr. McCalley's for over 20 years (I'm now 29 years old) and I wouldn't trust any other dentist as much as him! As a young girl, my lateral incisors never grew in completely, leaving me with small, pointy "vampire" teeth. Dr. McCalley worked with my orthodontist to create the proper spacing for veneers. He put in composite resin veneers over the incisors when I was 15 and the dramatic transformation really helped boost my confidence in my teenage years. Over 10 years later, I noticed they were beginning to yellow (from drinking tea, coffee, etc.

I've been a patient of Dr. McCalley's for over 8 years now and I couldn't be more pleased with his recommended course of action with getting my teeth and overall dental hygiene back on track. He recently completed some crowns for me while I waited in the office so I wouldn't need to make a separate visit. His staff is super friendly and the coffee's even better!

I've went to Dr. McCalley's office for over 15 years and have recently switched Dentists. Even though I've always found him to be extraordinarily arrogant, I continued to have him as my Dentist because I liked my Hygienist (who has since left) and the fact that there are monitors to watch TV while having dental work done.

Dr. McCalley, the office staff and the dental hygienists were extremely professional and made the trip to the dentist enjoyable. Dr. McCalley explained everything in a very easy to understand way. The cleaning portion of my visit included the option to wear headphones and watch whatever I'd like on the ceiling TV which helped make the cleaning more relaxing. Overall, this is the best dental office I've visited in San Diego and I would encourage anyone looking for a dentist to look no further.

I've been in this office a bunch of times now. I am always blown away by the front desk. The girls are so sweet and always manage to find a way to get it done! The doctor is a great guy and always shoot it straight. They have a really fun play area for the kids as well. Extra points because the office smells good. Some dental offices don't and this one smells amazing. State-of-the-art equipment going through there as well. I would definitely recommend this dentist to anyone who's looking to bring their entire family.

World needs to know that caring, kind in additional to exceptional professionals in medical field do exist and deserve recognition. The fact is that my dental emergency happened on Christmas eve, and only name came to mind is Dr. McCalley's. Not even surprisingly that he did return my call on Christmas day offering me to come over for appointment either on same day or Saturday morning basically sacrificing his time with his family, which by the way he does have.
San Diego patients/customers! If you look for professional who will do excellent job, will care day or night and not overcharge

I've been going to Dr. McCalley since I moved to San Diego about two years ago and he is fantastic. I love his entire staff they're all fun,knowledgeable and sweet, but ultimately the most impressive experience I've had with them is t the way he handled a recent cavity I needed handled this morning.
I am completely terrified of all things medical, and needles make me want to run for this hills. This was my first cavity so I was extra terrified and seriously considered turning around multiple times. He was calm, and patient with me and clearly an expert. I felt safe and comfortable

My family has seen Dr.McCalley for a very long time. I've seen him for around 14 years give or take, and have had nothing but ups and down with the man and some of his staff.....
Now, the main reason why I am not giving 1 star, is because, Dr. McCalley does some really great work.
But, the reason why I believe he only earned 2 stars is because of his poor customer service and greed. I think he does not have the best interest of his patients financially and takes advantage of his patients.

My mother had seen him about a year or two (give or take) for a few things. He told her that

Best dentist in San Diego! I've recommended him to everyone I know for years and years. The whole staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. You can watch tv/movies or listen to music while they work on your teeth. They have all the latest gadgets and the place is very soothing and relaxing. I've never been scared of going to the dentist (yes, I floss after drinking tea). But, friends that aren't that thrilled about it, have thanked me for referring them.
