Beautiful place with lots of historical architectural features. You can now rent out for weddings, dinners, events plus there is a hotel on-site.

Thank you for the response, but that won't be necessary. Your staff is extremely rude, your grounds weren't very well kept, (I noticed weeds all in the flower beds) and you don't have sufficient parking to support your business it sounds like. You also don't care about your community enough to allow some kids and their parents to take some photos for a once in a lifetime event. You dont want that to happen? post some private parking or private property signs visibly. And in the future, given that it is a business and you're all about the money, you could have said something nicely. Kindness goes

Mother's day brunch was at best a disaster. I normally don't bash on places but it was pretty pathetic. We had reservations for 1200 along with another 100 or so participants. Stuffed into the wating room we were seated 20 mins late. There was no organization for serving. The buffet ran out of food multiple times with the staff standing around watching and seldomly refilling. The line was extremely slow due to people waiting for food. When the food was restocked it was cold or luke warm and mostly store bought. At the prices paid I expect at minimum restaurant quality. One star for the fried chicken

This used to be a great place to dine and enjoy memorable dinners. I remember coming here for several Thanksgiving meals years ago. Today, food isn't the main draw so it's lost its charm as the place yo eat in Washington. Now it appears the focus is events, not the dining. Great history and location.

Went to my neice wedding and reception. It was in the evening
And it was very cold inside the tent. They had heaters going but it was cold in the tent. I'm not the only person that complained. People were putting on coats, trying to get their feet warm.

A colleague and I came in on a business lunch. The service was subpar to say the least. Total lunch service time was an hour and a half which is unacceptable. We ordered the Thai Chicken Satay and the portion of rice was no bigger than the size of a hockey puck. The chicken portion consisted of 3 very small pieces of chicken on a skewer. As someone who has had restaurant experience, I estimate that we had 2.5 to 3 oz of chicken per portion. We both left the restaurant hungry... I realize that the restaurant just reopened, hopefully today's lunch service was just an anomaly.

Went to Elijah McLeans for lunch on
Sat. April 27th 2019. This was our
first visit since they reopened. Called
ahead to ask the size of their pizzas.
Talked to two different people and
neither one would give me a straight
answer. I didn't think that was a
very difficult question and never did
get an answer. After receiving the
pizza I understood why they did
not want you to know---- you only
get 5 very small pieces for $16.50.
To say that's overpriced is an understatement. I got soup and
tea. My husband got a salad and
we split 5 slices. When we got
the bill, we were overcharged

Friday night. 8 pm. Restaurant is empty except for my husband and I.
First, we didn't know what door to go in the front or one of the two side doors?
Hint: back side door leads to the bar area.
Second, we entered through the front door and there was no one there and there was no sign to tell us where to go.
Once we found someone, got sat down, everything was good.
Third, the menu is limited.
I ordered the BlackBerry asiago Pizza which comes in a personal size (see picture) and my husband ordered the Grilled Ribeye sandwich (picture). We also ordered the Bourban Cherry Brie that is served with

I was so glad to see this restaurant reopen. Several years ago this is where my wife and I ate before I proposed to her so this place has sentimental value. We ate here for lunch. It was a limited menu but a good selection. The prices were high for what you received. The wine list was great but again, a bit overpriced. I ordered the rib-eye steak sandwich. It was a bit over-cooked but not dry. The Duchess potatoes were phenomenal. The venue was very clean and beautifully decorated. Mckenzie was a fantastic server. She was personable and attentive but not being overbearing. I would suggest asking

So excited! This beautiful Victorian mansion has been updated with gas fire places and amazing ambiance. Went with my husband. He surprised me! Currently has a limited menu, and it's expensive. The chicken ceasar salad was delish.

I was led to believe this was the fanciest restaurant in Washington, MO... and while it is in a pretty, old house on a hill overlooking the Missouri River, it is really more of a bar than a restaurant. We were there mid-day and we were the only diners. Our waitress was very nice, but knew little about the menu. Her service was very attentive, though. Food-wise, the coffee was great. French onion soup was delicious with a mustard edge. Homemade horseradish-ranch salad dressing was good. Chicken breast and salmon had good sauces, but meats were dry and hard. Prices were pretty high for the area.

Curious, we went for drinks yesterday having last been there more than a decade ago. The renovation is clearly a huge success. Every square inch inside and out has been addressed using topnotch materials (e.g., copper gutters, nicely resurfaced parking area, refinished plaster walls beautifully painted) and the general effect is 5 star. Our female bartender was attractive, friendly and professional and the bar area was classy and cosy. We look forward to many lunches and dinners at this beautiful addition to the dining scene in Washington. Kudos!

Beautiful venue. However, the bread was stale, the iced tea was weak, the meal blase. The complimentary cookie couldn't change my mind. Hoping that the chef steps up the flavor in the menu to save this landmark restaurant.

The new owners have done a great job paying attention to detail in their renovations. They have made it as nice as everyone hopes to remember it from their past (possibly better). It will be a place to create future memories in Washington for years to come. Don't miss a opportunity to see it for yourself.
