Did you know that The Opera House of Pacific has a unique connection with The St. Louis World's Fair? The entire building was actually built from remaining material and ornamentals of the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. As the Fair closed, eleven train cars, loaded with materials salvaged from the Exposition, brought part of the history of the Fair to Pacific.
Construction of the McHugh & Daily Mercantile Building had begun. The first floor was a general store. The second floor had apartments for the owners and their families. The third floor would become the famous Opera House of Pacific. In this brief article, it is hoped that several interesting questions will be answered: Why the Opera House was built?

Had a wedding here in early January and the venue was gorgeous. We had about 50 people present (the venue accommodates 150) and the space had enough room for a head table, 8 guest tables, and a dance floor in the middle of the space.
We had and open bar and the venue's bar was well stocked and the service was good.
It was somewhat difficult to get into contact with the venue and management sometimes forgot what they offered or agreed to. Make sure to get everything in writing.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. The owner was very rude. She actually threatened a 10 year old that she would lock him in the elevator until he died. Totally ruined the Bride and Groom as well as there guest's day. VERY SAD literally NO one should ever have to deal with the way they treated this family and guests

I wish I could leave zero stars. I attended a wedding here and the staff was very rude! They yelled at me because someone had dropped something on the floor, threatened children, put their hands on someone else’s child, and told the bride and groom that they were terrible parents! On top of all this, they laughed in the faces of the couple when we left. Just all around EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude. There is a much better way to talk to children or handle situations that are getting out of control than threatening kids or putting your hands on them. Next time, try talking to an adult to handle

We had our wedding there over the weekend and we had to end it early because the owner was AWFUL to our guests. If you have children don't bring them. The owner threatened to lock them in the elevator until they die! We paid extra for the grooms room and they had junk in a pile in the corner of the room. The owner laughed when we said our day was ruined by the remarks she was making to our guests. The place is mostly beautiful, but the owner is horrid.

I was invited to an anniversary party here a couple weeks ago. Great atmosphere and really beautiful spot. Historically significant! I'm from Saint Louis originally and loved the uniqueness behind the building. Will definitely recommend as a venue for future events for family and friends! Reasonable prices as well!

If I could rate it 0/5 I would. The director of the building was completely unprofessional, and made threats to the guests children. My cousin was hosting one of her most specail days at this location and the entire time she had to make sure she walked on eggshells to avoid hateful speech from the director. She truly ruined my cousins wedding. 10/10 would NOT recommend.

My wife and I love this place! We both volunteer to help out with events such as weddings, reunions, memorial services, private parties, and live music shows. My wife bartends and I help her. There are so many reasons to love this place! Check out the Brewhaus for some great food and afterward wander around the rest of the building. You might find someone to give you a tour!
