In 1977, Dr. Barry Jose opened Family Eyecare Center of Council Bluffs. Since then, Council Bluffs residents have had a family friendly optometry clinic to serve all their eyecare needs. The current office location at the corner of 16th and Avenue D has been home to Family Eyecare Center since 1992.
Family Eyecare Center of Council Bluffs provides comprehensive eye exams for family members of all ages. Refraction, assessment of binocular function, slit lamp biomicroscopy, measurement of intraocular pressures, dilated fundus exam and digital retinal photography. Family Eyecare Center of Council Bluffs will evaluate, treat, and manage any signs of ocular disease.

Family Eyecare Center of Council Bluffs provides contact lens fittings for a wide range of prescriptions, insertion & removal training for new contact lens wearers, and additional care information for contact lenses. The doctors can fit a variety of lenses from dailies to monthly lenses, soft contacts to specialty lenses and will make the right decision on which lenses are best suited for your life style.
In 2005, Family Eyecare Centers opened their 2nd office, just off of 42nd Street and Highway 370 in Bellevue. Bellevue Family Eyecare Center is a full service optometric clinic and dispensary, easily accessible to both Bellevue and Papillion residents. Bellevue Family Eyecare accepts nearly all major medical and vision insurance plans, including Tricare, the insurance provider for United States Military.

I took my mom to see our favorite eye guy Dr. Lempp! Awesome to learn the puff of air in the eye is a thing of the past!! Got to love technology!
They have an awesome variety of inventory and the service was thorough and speedy!

This place just took my money without listening to my concerns. I picked this place specifically because they had Binocular Vision disorder listed on their website, but the doctor just gaslit me the entire time that it must just be anxiety or something neurological. Only spent about 5 mins on my exam, but interrupted the middle of my exam to take a phone call outside the door where he was annoyed at some supplier of his. He spent almost 10 minutes on that call in the middle of my appointment, complaining to that rep the whole time. It was SO unprofessional.

The whole Team at Bellevue Family Eyecare are awesome. Dr. Carpenter is caring and is a great listener. He is very thorough with his exams.
The ladies at the desk are wonderful. Liz has always helped with making sure you get the best frames and lenses. Her fitting skills are great.
Dr. Carpenter is the best optimistic in the Bellevue/Omaha area as far as I am concerned as is the staff at Bellevue Family Eyecare.
You need to go here for your optical needs. You will be completely satisfied!!

After 10 years, Will not do business with this place ever again. This business prefers to get the extra $4.96 rather than keep me as a patient. Wrote a letter explaining that I thought I was billed incorrectly, but received no response, they just cashed the check and didn't bother to talk to this ex-patient. Would have thought they would make more money from my buying another pair of glasses. Business must be good.

Bellevue Family Eyecare is an amazing facility run by a caring and loving staff. For me the center of that organization is Dr Brad Carpenter. He is the most thorough practitioner I’ve been associated with. I will go no where else. The support staff is so flexible. I was not going to make my Dec 2020 appointment on time and they simply flipped my appointment time with a patient that arrived before I did who had a later appointment. They forward all their findings to my regular Dr’s office. I couldn’t be happier.
