I believe that therapy is a collaborative process with the therapist acting as a guide helping the client develop skills and tools to apply to their own lives. In our work together, I strive to help people lead more fulfilling, more meaningful, more productive, and happier lives. We will achieve this by exploring how your past relationships and life events impacts your present functioning.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York. I graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco with a Psy. D. (Doctor of Psychology). I became interested in psychology at a young age and have always been fascinated with understanding the subtleties of human interaction and helping other live more fulfilling lives.
My style of therapy can be best described as integrative. This means that I do not rely solely on one method, but incorporate several techniques and theories. I find that it is best to not hold firmly to one idea but instead adapt the methods to each unique client instead of adapting each client to one single approach.
The length of Psychotherapy is unique to the individual. Some issues require only a few sessions while others may need more time. However, length of treatment is flexible and frequently discussed. In your first session we will discuss needs and expectations of therapy length. Psychotherapy is an ever-evolving process and I will make sure to check in with you regularly regarding your progress and expectations.
