A Developmental Delay is suspected when a child does not reach developmental milestones within the expected time-frame. It is an ongoing, major delay in the process of development, rather than a slight or temporary lag behind in expected milestones. A developmental evaluation involves an assessment of your child's intelligence (or current developmental functioning), language, and visual-motor skills.
